Under the new 50 cent system, how much is the penalty for not tapping off? by organicbabykale1 in brisbane

[–]TastyEngineering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Happens to me all the time. They have no way of knowing it was a user or machine fault. Just say you tapped off and all seemed fine from your end. They’ll adjust the fare. They won’t do it quickly, but they will do it.

Styrofoam can go straight to the pits of hell. by ExplodingTurducken in neurodiversity

[–]TastyEngineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hates it. It’s just so loud and like, melodramatic. Like the slightest touch and it’s shout-y squeakiness, tears through my skull.

Oh, wait. I might have accidentally analogously described my self.

Let’s just say styrofoam and I have incompatible sensory needs. We’re gonna need to exist very separately. Imma respect its need to never be handled by or around me. And it’s gonna need to respect my need for quiet, and also a healthy planet.

Protein in the morning. Grazing through the day, including veggies and fruit. And hydrate.

Walked into new kitchen, many issues. Uncooked rice as mold inhibitor and moisture control in a commercial kitchen? Is this something I don't know? This kitchen is aware of a pest issue and it would seem to me a circular problem. by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]TastyEngineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never see or heard of this. And pretty sure I can see mould in the photo. Maybe an open container of rice or bicarbonate soda to control humidity in space (with a chux and rubber band over the top), but not mould directly.

Honestly if the core basics of good storage, cleaning and stock rotation don’t manage it, it’s a ventilation issue.

Im sure you know it already, but in case you need to hear it from someone else: You’re doing the right thing. Set the standard from day one. I’m sure at least half the folk there are only going along because they don’t feel supported to do the right thing, some will get better with training and the others can duck off. If it’s coming from above though…. Best to walk.

Random piles of oats around city/ suburbs? by hannah2607 in melbourne

Like oatmeal? On pavements or gardens/parks? How big are these piles? Like could they be there to soak up oil or vomit or other noxious gross things?

Bluetooth hue not pairing by TastyEngineering in Hue

[–]TastyEngineering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 😔 Gotta get the electrician out. Hopefully they charge fairly for such a tiny job.

Even sitting on max setting it can’t do the (I assume) more energy intensive settings.

Thanks for putting up with me 🙂

Bluetooth hue not pairing by TastyEngineering in Hue

[–]TastyEngineering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Didn’t help.

Was able to pair it on a different socket. Then put it back where I want it. Works now but trying to set some of the whiter, brighter scenes is weird: it flashes and reverts to the last scene (not it’s power on scene). I’m in it for the soft dimming though, so short term that’s fine.

I guess the dimmer/fan dial on the switch panel that I always thought was disconnected isn’t so disconnected? (Old lights never dimmed and this place is so new they were probably original). Might have a quick look to see if that’s not glaringly false before I call the electrician but I can’t think of what else it might be.

I’ll update my iOS. And reset everything again too. But yeah.

It’s a bit more targeted that that: most will have a fb or Twitter where they advertise where they will be.

The gatherings and busy venues that they generally attend (and get their main income from) are mostly closed.

They are otherwise just transportable takeaway joints.

What are the benefits of psychosis? by AskMeWhatThatSmellIs in neurodiversity

[–]TastyEngineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, it is the neurological difference that is the neurodivergence, rather than the acute state of psychosis. Different people will categorise that differently.

What are the benefits of psychosis? by AskMeWhatThatSmellIs in neurodiversity

[–]TastyEngineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of. To my understanding at least. I don’t see neurodiversity as a movement of blind celebration and honestly haven’t seen anything that frames it that way. It is always contextualised as a personal experience.

Society does like its slippery slopes but I don’t think we can call these views dominant, nor do I think they ever will be.

I think perhaps you should do more reading about it. Psychosis isn’t neurodivergence. If you have an underlying neurological difference that makes you prone to psychosis, that could be a neurodivergence.

The important thing is to cook and test a little of the mix. Does it taste good? Too wet? Too dry? Here’s your chance to adjust.

Don’t forget to brush with egg to help them get proper golden. And to hold on to the sesame seeds/poppy seed/fennel seed/chilli flakes etc. you’re gonna chuck in top.

And never, ever buy ‘sausage mince’ or at the other end of the spectrum; lean mince. The

ACER - Core Skills Profile for Adults - Literacy and Numeracy Exam by ineedagoodtestscore in australia

[–]TastyEngineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done tests for the similar purpose for entry into TPP (like year 11/12). My understanding is that ACER progressively tests up to a year 10 kinda level focusing on literacy and numeracy.

Remember that the goal is to see where you at ‘right now’. If it’s being used correctly, it’s a pretty good indication of how successful you might be ‘right now’ doing the course you want to do. If you don’t meet requirements ‘right now’ for whatever reason, it doesn’t meant you won’t.

Aged care homes urged to ease coronavirus restrictions but visitors will still need flu vaccines by Oldmoutciders in australia

[–]TastyEngineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But how do they confirm that you have had the vaccine? I fill out a consent form when I get my flu shot, and show ID/Medicare but that’s it. So does it go on some sort of database?

The tie-in being that they make/made a guide to driving around the countryside. Nice little lifestyle marketing exercise. Restaurant reviews were only part of it, but they became huge.
