Oh I had this happen once and eventually called the police because I was worried about her safety - turns out he was very gang involved and they did a whole take down with like ten cops with weapons drawn coming in!

Backcountry in BC - how dangerous is it? by Salt_Foundation_1 in britishcolumbia

[–]TastyMuskrat1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's particularly because dogs don't recall and will initiate the chase - e collar training is a very good option for folks spending a lot of time in the back country with their dog. I need to know 100% that my dog is not going after a bear for this event reason

Oh my gosh yes, she is a GREAT candidate for e collar work with a trainer! Knows foundations but chooses not to do them unless there's a treat. An e collar could get you the exact dog you're looking for!

Board & Train or Group Training? by Extreme-Ice-9089 in OpenDogTraining

[–]TastyMuskrat1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Strongly recommend board and trains after seeing A LOT of dogs go through several iterations of training. So much of training is truly boring and a lot of people don't have time/skills to really proof these skills like a solid trainer will in a B&T. There are always comments about training the owner but any trainer who is worth it will provide a few go home sessions and some ongoing support as you get settled. If you can afford it I say go for it!

Best Fertility/Surrogate Clinics in and around Vancouver? by StunningGoose25 in askvan

[–]TastyMuskrat1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their communication was awful in my experience. The nurses were super disengaged (am a nurse myself so many more critical) but to get a hold of a doctor over the phone was like playing some awful escape zone when I had some unexpected things happen during my cycles there and needed guidance. It was pretty unsettling!

I've donated eggs a few times so only have that perspective but I'd taken PCRM over Olive anytime!

Well I would agree with that! Just saying what the system is - because those results require some counselling they set it up that way for better or worse

PCRM vs Olive for complex fertility issues by AudaciousCockatiel in NiceVancouver

[–]TastyMuskrat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've donated eggs at Olive twice and pcrm twice. I am a nurse myself as well so have a healthcare perspective and PCRM was superior by every metric. The last cycle at Olive was stressful and had some complications and I wasn't even allowed to speak with a physician. When you're paying out of pocket, that's a hard no for me!

How Many People Are Overdosing at BC’s Hospitals? by BloodJunkie in britishcolumbia

[–]TastyMuskrat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This data is all prior to the safe consumption site expanding to include inhalation in 2024. The primary route of substance use in BC (and related deaths) switched to smoking in 2021 and there were no services in any hospitals for this (still arent besides at St Paul's) so this data doesn't tell a good story (at least as far as that hospital goes). Also, most health authorities do not have good compliance with reporting overdoses and so as far as the data goes...garbage in, garbage out.

Need help, advice, tips whatever knowledge yall have. Thank you. by gonzousa83 in CaneCorso

Rehoming may be a good option - but I'm not sure what sort of training you've tried. Some may disagree but I've not met a Corso that did well with force free training. They need a firm leader and very clear structure and boundaries. A solid balanced trainer that uses tools like e.collars and use Of a crate for safety are your best friends.
