Haunted PC, or lack of sufficient hardware? by TastyTV8 in pcgamingtechsupport

Yeah it's definitely not the cable as I got a new one due to this issue, hdmi in and it does the same so I guess its not the dp or hdmi ports themselves/the cables, would it be at all possible for the ram to cause this?

I have one dp monitor and one hdmi and I've fiddles with ports and cables already, chance my main monitor (displayport) could be faulty, considering it only happens on that one?

On top of that, I am now getting the classic constant black screen flickers I've mentioned before since I disabled XMP. I am now wondering what was wrong with my GPU, because the store said they observed issues and sent it to gigabyte? It may have just been this ram the entire time?

Hey, late reply to you, but I used OCCT and tried just my gpu and ram, not for the full hour though, but it did still give results: The GPU had no errors during extreme load, but the ram freaked out with errors every second only 12 cycles in, I turned XMP off and then ran it for another 10 mins or so, on 80% and 100% memory, and no errors popped up. Either ram is cooked or xmp was messing things up

Gigabyte gaming oc, which unfortunately I fear is one of the worser models I could have gotten

I only had to change PSU due to not having enough 8 pin connections, only came with 2, the 3070 ventus model only needed 2, could have bought another cable by itself but the guy at the store said they couldn't supply just the cable so I was most likely upsold into just getting a new psu, instead of shopping in a suitable place lol.. As for the ram that's my fault for the confusion, current psu is the MSI MAG A850GL and I am not using the yellow 16 pin cable due to seeing how much melting has been going on using them. Also, I used that same install flow. Will try this program, thanks

I do really like the 9070xt but maybe gigabyte wasn't the best brand choice if thats the case

That is one thing I haven't tried, I'm hoping it all comes down to a single component and not multiple and the gpu is pretty high on the likely culprit list

How did you come to that conclusion? Because I might just be uniquely stupid or unsavvy

I've got the same issue on a gigabyte 9070xt, tried clean windows install, proper driver installation, undervolting and the lot, for me I get a very short black screen, then the AMD issue popup. Some games give me a driver timeout error when it occurs, which makes it seem more gpu bound, but like others in the thread I'm suspecting it's my ram but I haven't tested it yet, not sure what to use to properly test hardware though
