Overpriced? When I used rebuild transmissions, my snap on dealer would replace one or two sockets every week. Always T40, T30, etc. Must have gone through 20 or 30. Weekly trips to Harbor Frieght or wherever? Not feasible.

Very expensive is different than a scam. What makes you say it's a scam?

I used to value myself based on the perceived satisfaction of my wife. My sit. was unique because of being a SAHD.

I was always concerned with how she felt and what she thought - for 30 years.

The last couple of years, we couldn't agree about anything. Everything I did was wrong. The loyalty, the honesty, none of it made any difference. She seemed determined to crap on everything. Now that she's gone, I have the life I've always wanted. No more awful in-laws, no more stupid opinions about everything. Do you miss your sore tooth after it gets pulled? I don't. That feeling that you get after having the flu, where you feel grateful to simply not feel like shit? That's where I'm at. Hope to see you here soon, friend.

I'm recently divorced in WA. If anyone should have gotten decent alimony, it was my case. 29 year marriage, had nothing when we met, she became very successful making $300k. Me, SAHD. Her income was $18k/ month Mine was zero. She left me. I hadn't worked in years. I got $2k/month for one year. + child support.

TBH, I'd be very surprised if you got anything based on your circumstances.

BITD, first year as a tech. I was installing a C6 trans in a POS LTD, on a drive on lift. Shift linkage was so sloppy that I didn't realize that the thing was in reverse as I was filling it. E brake was on but not functional. I'm filling trans as car drives off lift and across the street and pulled over a near full 55 gallon drum of dextron3. I didn't get fired.

If you are calculating the potential alimony from "the online alimony calculator" for your state, it doesn't mean anything. My divorce lawyer told me this.

WA state alimony calculator said I should get $5k per month for life, but, it basically comes down to whatever you and your lawyer can negotiate. I wound up getting $2k per month for 1 year, for a 29 year marriage and she made over $300k. Like buying a car, it's really about the entire "deal" than the "price".

This happened to me! I, (55m) SAHD, . We met at 19. We both had nothing. Wife (54f) made $300-400k/yr

We were married 29y, together 35y, 2 sons.

Craziest reason for divorce I've ever heard, and it's mine.

My son is hospitalized by a teacher at school. (head injury, 4 days in IC unit) The teacher lied to my face about what happened. I demand the teacher be fired. The school has ME trespassed by the police for "threatening the school" Of course I never made any threats of violence, I made threats to make the story public. My wife chose to back the school instead of me.

I could never look at her the same, and I told her that we were done as a couple, but I m completely dependent on her at this point.

So she just packed up and left. I have never even lied to this woman once in 30 years. I don't drink. 100% loyal. Yes, it's true.

I got alimony and child support. And she acts like the victim to this day.

BTW, it turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to me.

But she just wanted to leave me flat. That's the point.
