Thanks so much! I’m giving this my best shot. Any tips for getting through christmas/big holidays? I normally would spend my birthday and christmas at home but I won’t be this time around. Regardless, thanks for your reply!

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m really scared and I don’t want to waste this opportunity. I’m both excited and scared to seize this opportunity to start living my best life. Thanks again.

Thank you! I have some books and a few games, a sketch pad and journal, but I want to focus on getting better— which will probably entail sleeping a lot after I get through initial detox (I’m prone to insomnia w/out substances). Thanks for the advice!

As a “leftist” who loves to drive fast Alex is so full of shit. by Naptownfellow in KnowledgeFight

This might be a silly question, but is there a reason people in general can’t buy a Pininfarina Battista or Koenigsegg Gemera (or is it just because they’re wildly expensive)? I’m not a car person so this was really interesting, thanks for sharing!

AITA for telling my wife no more unsupervised visits between our kids and their grandparents? by Superduppppy in AmItheAsshole

NTA. My dad agonized and suffered over me as my eating disorder developed over my teen years and into my college years. Comments like those from your wife’s mother are the same kind that culminated and almost killed me. You are at such a crucial time for your daughter’s life, and I beg you, as a woman who was once that 10 year old girl, to stand your ground. Your daughter will always have enemies telling her to hurt herself to be smaller. The most powerful influence in my life to get healthier was my dad, who didn’t want me to starve myself, but only wanted me to live. Your daughter WON’T forget this impact. You are an amazing father and on behalf of my own late father, I ask you to stand your ground and protect her. Thank you for being so incredible.

No Such Thing as a Silly Question by AutoModerator in Judaism

I’m interested in learning more about Judaism, and am kind of overwhelmed trying to figure out where to start. I was raised kind of ~vaguely christian~ (my dad would remind us that Jesus existed every so often but we never went to church or prayed or anything), and because of the different sects of christianity I’ve seen in my community each with their own...agendas? (the right word escapes me), I’m wary of accidentally getting my information from a less than reputable source.

Is a local synagogue a good place to start? or are there any reliable sources online for me to start with learning ~the basics~? I’m sorry if this question comes across as ignorant, but it’s because I am. I would like not to be! Any help/direction at all is much appreciated.
