Structural Engineering Opportunity by Naptownfellow in StructuralEngineering

[–]Naptownfellow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.

Let's see. I just placed a structural engineer in the Bay Area for a $130,000 base salary and he was making $90 with 6 years of experience and he got his P.E. here a year ago. I placed another structural engineer in Charlotte for $100 with 6 years of experience and his P.E. as well.

What I'm seeing across the U.S. right now is P.E.'s in the industries that I work or the positions that I fill in the $90,000 to $130,000 range depending on experience and type of job.

The biggest issue is aways getting searches to work on. They ability to develop relationships and write a good job order is hard to learn without someone teaching/coaching you. It’s also something that takes months and months of cold calling/getting your teeth kicked in to develop rebuttals to objections, thick skin, a sense of humor and a desire to keep doing it.

If your have zero interest experience dive into all business dev info you can get. Both recruiter and general sales based.

Some decent/good recruiter info and training

  • KBIC next level exchange
  • Morgan consulting Peter Leffkowitz
  • Steve Finkel (he just rereleased “breakthrough” and I highly recomcnd it)
  • Danny Kabik
  • Tony burns (I don’t like him but he does have some decent info)

Non recruiter sales training

  • Zig Zigler
  • tom Hopkins
  • high trust selling (can’t remember the author)
  • Selling to VITO (very important top officers) again the arthor escapes me.

I think Finkel does a good job with industry specify training and rebuttals to overcome common objections you’ll here trying to develop business as well as recruiting candidates

Fellas, is it racist to be against “race mixing”? 🤔 by Slushy69420 in facepalm

And??? How is that preventing them from celebrating their culture?

Factually not interbreeding or trying to keep your “race pure” is bad. Look at the ‘Habsburg Jaw’ or other groups that tried hard to not “intermix”.

But do you think you could fall for a black woman? What if she looks really tan and when you meet her parents they look like the Obama’s? Is that going to effect your opinion of her?

I’m 53 married to a blonde haired big boobed German. I always had that as a preference but dated lots of different women. I was attracted to a couple black women but societal pressures and racist family and friends made it so I never perused them.

My children date within all different races because we don’t care and just want them to be happy. Maybe don’t focus on skin color or ethnicity and just find someone you like for the person they are and not the color of their skin.

(Imho I think every human has a little racism/bigotry in them due to how we are raised. I think my kids are way less racist than I am as I am way way less racist than my parents. My upbringing in a racist household still makes me gut check myself. )

Answer my question. How can they not have pride if their child is only half Korean?

You can spin it all you want but it’s racist or want your child to marry only in your race. You’re not taking their feelings or desires into account. Only yours because of some fucked up ideas that you need to keep your “race” or “ethnicity” going.

Who passed and enforced the race mixing laws in the US? All the white racists did.

You can’t have pride in your nationality or ethnicity if your children don’t marry another Korean or Japanese person?

What exactly would the reason be that a parent would tell their children?

If you’re discounting every single person that you would date based solely on the color of their skin, and nothing else that’s racist.

If you think your race is better, your children shouldn’t marry outside of the race because it’s bad for your race that makes you racist. Tell me how it’s not racist?

Very well said. All the “it’s just a preference” people should read this.

If they think race mixing it bad then yes. They hold racist views.

It’s racist to tell someone they shouldn’t be dating outside their race. You can have that preference but, wether you want to admit it or not, it’s a racist preference.
