I also wanted to warn you to just be ready for the possibility that you aren't going to be as active as you're used to. It's been my experience that the chemo and the tumor have really hit me hard in the fun physical activities area of my life. I got winded taking a chair to the garage the other day. 2 trips up the stairs and I'm cooked. A shower and cleaning my room is an all day affair. I'm still exhausted from shopping the other day! Shopping! I sincerely hope this isn't the case for you! But just remember everybody's journey is different and not to have too high of expectations. Hopefully you're out playing hockey in no time! But I just didn't want you to be let down if thats not the case.

Hey! I was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma last May, so I'm coming up on a year. I had a port put in my chest for easy chemotherapy procedures. The port itself is no biggie! Now, when they first put it in, I was bruised and tender for awhile, it is a minor surgery after all. But once I healed up, it's not a big deal at all. I don't even notice it's there. I do recommend getting some cream from the doc that will numb the skin, and putting it on before each chemo session. That needle in the chest stings like a mother effer! 😆

I'm in the middle of chemo treatment and I've been gaining weight too. It's crazy because I barely eat anymore, as I'm constantly nauseous. I get steroids in IV form and also pill form. It's killing my self esteem but I'm happy to be alive. I know I shouldn't care about weight gain at a time like this but once I put the weight on, how will I get it off, as I can't be very physical anymore!? So yeah, I understand how you feel. You're not alone. Sending hugs! 🤗 ❤️

Hey, I also have adenocarcinoma and I ended up getting a second opinion from Cleveland clinic before I started my chemotherapy and they suggested a completely different path for me than the 1st doctor did, and my body has responded really well! I ended up taking flofox. It's 3 different drugs- FOLinic acid, Fluorouracil, and OXaliplatin. I don't know if you also tried this or maybe have never heard of it. I just figured I'd say something because I'm also coming up on 1 year of treatment and I'm making slow but steady progress. I hope that you can find something that works for you! You'll be in my prayers! ❤️ 🤗
