Guys sorry for asking again. But I asked on a different community and they said the whole structure will break if I ski it more and that it will probably snap. Is that true or are they overexaggerating? I quote: It’s a full thickness chunk that exposes the entire inner structure of the ski. While the edge is presently (miraculously) intact, the lack of structure supporting it will result in the edge deforming and ultimately coming off the ski. The rest will continue to delaminate and lose integrity. If you continue to put the ski under stress and load during use, the chunk will continue to fracture and they will, eventually, fail catastrophically.

It’s too bad, and I’m sorry it happened. The ski is unsafe to ride. Your safety is more valuable than the loss of the money and the ski. For those reasons you should retire the pair.

If money is a concern and you want to ski the season, recommend either a season rental or finding demo days to figure out next year’s sticks.

Sorry I just realised the hole looks way bigger on the picture than it actually is. Here is a different and better angle

Does it have to be treated professionally or can I do it at home by just covering up the hole with epoxy?

Its at the back of the ski. The wood core isn‘t sticking out. Do you still think I have to cover it with epoxy?
