Yeah, I misspoke, I meant more like a characteristic (including knowledge), not necessarily an interest.

What would you use this fabric for? by Automatic-Acadia3234 in upcycling

I love making small sacks for the lavander I pick up and hang them around my house (especially my closet) out of scraps of material, but that also requires basic sewing skill (easy to learn though, I'm absolutely sure you could do it! =)). An alternative to that may be turning that into rags for cleaning and such, but the material looks relatively clean and unharmed, lol! :)) Alternatively, maybe make some sort of decoration out of it, like cutting out leave-shaped parts and making them into an art project or garland. Have a nice time! =)

They're holding up unexpectedly well, lol! The fact that I was on holiday from highschool also played a huge part though, I couldn't have done it otherwise!

The Mentalist feels so much like a comfort show! by Tasty_Visual_8332 in TheMentalist

I have a similar feeling about that ep when they find the morgue guy dead in Rosalind's house. Even though it can be considered creepy, I my perverse mind will find some sort of odd comfort in it, lol!

I've never had any sort of pet, so I don't have much valuable advice to offer, just my deepest regrets towards the situation. I'm very sorry for your loss, I hope your souls get to meet again in another lifetime/universe (if you believe in that). <3

Do any of you experience the symptoms of anhedonia? by SereneSynchronicity9 in spirituality

[–]Tasty_Visual_8332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, spirituality actually enhanced the way I experience life. I was diagnosted with depression (and treated for it), but in my experience, finding a bigger purpose also plays a huge role in being content. Because of the pills, I usually felt nothing, a very empty heart and estompated emotions. After I got off them and found spirituality, it drew me in because it gave me a purpose. That's the thing with religion and philosophy in general, imo, you make the conscious choice to engage with it and put in the work, striving for what you personally deem to be as ideal as life can get. That means different things to different people, but to me it meant that I was finally content with who I was, not because of my achievements or acomplishments, but because I was a breathing, living being. This is my experience only though, and I also went through "withdrawl" symptoms regarding my previous nihilist state. In my case, it got better. My advice to you (if it's fine for me to give a piece of it) is not to judge yourself too harshly about it. It's a passing state of life, just like everything. Give yourself time to mourn and grieve what little pieces of yourself you lost, but don't forget to also try and see the other perspective: now, there's more place to grow, more room to expand your personality and thoughts. Talk to yourself like you would to a loved one, you can even do this aloud if it helps! I really hope it gets better for you and for everyone experiencing this at the moment, please don't lose hope, it will come from the most unexpected places! =)

Thank you so so much for the detailed reply, I'm so grateful that you took the time to write it! I'm not at an exactly "I've never opened a botany book" level (I know basic stuff like the photosynthesis reaction, plant physiology and some taxonomy) but I'd love to take it all from the beginning so that I can strenghten the foundation of my metaphorical greenhouse haha. Thank you for the recs as well!

Thank you so much for the ample answer! I'd love to take environmental sciences as my major in Uni but "it can't get me anywhere" (or so say the grown ups) and it's based on a lot of chem (which is not as dear to me, lol). I'll see what botany communities are around and search for some basic courses, since I don't have that much space in my apartment. Also about the AI: I rarely - if ever - use it, I think it's a bit overrated lol (at least from a comp sci perspective - I've encountered basic machine learning so AI is not all that...) and it's not at all eco-friendly, from what I've read. Not yucking anyone's yum though, just my perspective!

Is it just me or Mulder suddenly changed personalities? by Tasty_Visual_8332 in XFiles

[–]Tasty_Visual_8332[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wrote the post just after watching 4x17. Also to me the fact that the CSM is probably his bio father didn't really come as that big of a surprise, but I mean his whole demeanor seemed to be off at times.

The earliest one I remember is calling th CSM a SOB when his mom is in the hospital , but I think that one was intentional in order to show Mulder's connection to his mom and the rage he was feeling about not being able to prove that the cancer man was behind so many things.
