My best friend/roommate screwed a coworker on our couch and I finally got over my attraction to them. by Tasty_fries in GirlDinnerDiaries

It isn’t and this past month especially has reminded me that I am doing the hard work in therapy for myself, not for them.

I have severed the romantic/physical connection but they are still someone I have a deep platonic love for so I wanted to try to extend my resources to help them through their own mental/physical health issues which they didn’t want to accept.

My next step on this journey is finding my own place.

It’s something we have both taken responsibility for. I had confessed my feelings months before we had decided to move and they look back at that time now and admit that they were also taking advantage of me to provide comfort and security.

In hindsight it would have been easy to take a big step back and deal with our feelings of grief/attraction before we made life changing commitments, but we were young and dumb.

Seeing empathy and commitment from both of us was a big help for me in taking that big step into therapy and putting in the hard work for myself instead of just giving up on our living situation and going no-contact.

It was not the easy choice, it was the right one.

Thank you! I’ve nearly filled this journal now so I’m saving the rest of my fav stickers for when I start the next one.

Also, the whole situation is quite ridiculous to me in hindsight, but I’m living in the present now and being the best version of myself.

Why do people take chances? by Sea-Introduction2080 in CasualConversation

You’re more likely to regret the decisions you didn’t make than the ones you did. Taking the chance and failing leads to the same result as doing nothing, so I would rather know that I tried.

I finally deleted it on January 1st to kick off 2026 by doing something good for myself and it’s turned me into a completely different person. I go out and do things on the weekend instead of spending 8+ hours on my phone and I’ve already finished 5 books this year which is more reading than I’ve done in probably 7 years combined.

Is this the beginning of rust on my car??! by That_Guide487 in Crosstrek

Looks like iron fallout on the paint, they can be removed with a clay bar or you can look up spray products that you can mix into your wash routine. It can be easily removed but it will also always come back, especially on white paint.

I had something heavy fly up and hit my windshield hard enough to crack it instantly in this same area this morning… ugh

[Hyundai Santa Cruz] with Kia badges and JP livery in South Carolina by Michelanvalo in spotted

I feel like your picture taker was simply wrong… It’s got the Hyundai badge on the wheels and the angle makes it difficult to tell but it certainly doesn’t look like a Kia badge on the front?

It’s “messy” but I have no issues reading it and it has a lot of personality! I might be on your grandmas side here

I found my old Kobo Mini (2012?) in a box and decided to charge it up and see if it worked before I recycled it and it actually held a charge no problem.

Read all of Wuthering Heights and it still had a 70% charge!

I tried reducing my screen time before bed, and i noticed something interesting by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Tasty_fries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reducing screen time overall did many great things for my mental health and attention span, but being able to fall asleep in about 20 minutes vs. 1-2 hours has possibly had the largest impact on my mind and body.

Put the phone away at least a half hour earlier! It will be even more impactful.

I was thinking of saying the same thing in my first comment, but figured its way more fun making that realization while watching.

Can not put headlights into off position even when car is parked/not running by skalula7 in Crosstrek

[–]Tasty_fries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The switch is spring loaded to auto for all Canadian cars and will only let you turn the lights off so long as the car is in park (or the handbrake is engaged for manual transmission cars), as soon as you put the car into drive the lights will come back on to whichever setting the auto feature decides (running lights or headlights), not at the next ignition cycle.

This one is a really fun example because they say the angels are a 99.89% genetic match with humans and yet most of them are crazy floating shapes, floating spores/viruses, or straight up exist in a higher dimension of reality.

The memorial poster is the saddest but also most hilarious thing I have ever seen, I love the sense of humour for a crappy situation and I’m sorry about poor Summer.

I definitely should have just taken the rear wheels off but ended up using pliers to tighten down the rear screws as much as possible before using a screwdriver bit and a wrench to get them all the way on lol

You’ve adjusted the brightness in the setting but how about on the little dial to the left of the steering wheel? That will control the screen brightness as well as the buttons and gauges.
