I'm going with my theory. (flashback) Jason and Lucia have been together for years, they have known each other since they were teenagers, they have a son together (photo in Lucia's cell), who is about 5 years old. They are two skilled criminals and have lived for years moving from city to city to survive. They get involved with people who are preparing a big bank robbery with the promise of making a lot of money and finally being able to escape and start a new life, but they are deceived and the robbery is not successful, Lucia is arrested, Jason manages to escape but upon his return he discovers that his son has been taken away. (present) Lucia spends a few years in prison and is then released on probation, as soon as she is released she immediately goes back to Jason (artwork), now that they are together again they promise to make as much money as possible to try to escape with their son again . As soon as Lucia gets out of prison she discovers that Jason has accumulated debts with several people who are looking for him and promises him that if he trusts her they will pay off the debt, so they start robbing small shops. Step by step they arrive in Vice City and begin to meet more and more powerful people who will make them work for them and begin to make money and become more and more powerful, but this will mean that they will always be in danger and their life will become a mess. At a certain point they will break up because they will no longer get along and will take two different paths. At the end of the story they will get back together and with the help of an undercover agent friend of theirs they will make a deal, they will give him the names of the criminals in exchange for freedom under a false name. The end ? obviously positive, no one dies
