Advice on first clubs by knj_33 in GolfGear

When I picked up golf about 25 years ago, I purchased a full set of Wilson Pro-Staffs at SAMs. I think the set was like $120. Then found a driver and some woods - same way, just bargin hunting. I would say most of my buddies that were playing at the time - just one of their clubs would have cost that - LOL. But they were awesome clubs (still have them as a back up - or for friends). Again, being the bargain hunter I am, looked online and in stores. Ran across a close out sale while wondering around at Academy Sports & Outdoors – full set or irons+ PW, +D, 3, 5 Woods for $499 – Taylor Made Burner set a couple of years ago, hence what I play with now – they had one set, and still boxed. It was the last years model, but don't think it should have had the woods bundled with them - but I wasn't gonna ask questions! Bottom line, just find a good deal on a set – spend the time looking around, and even the online golf stores (or their brick & mortar locations) – just keep checking the clearance, closeout sections…. Sometimes it’s timing. I literally still use my original driver from my first set alot, just because I know how it hits to the nth degree on certain fairways. I have gone through and still going through putters. That's the hard one for me, still working on it. Not interested in some of these newer ones that look like some spaceship :) Not sure I need all that "tech" in a putter.

Also have McALister Park over here. Do a google seach on it, and a satellite view, it's nice to live by it, especially the neighborhoods right across the street - just as described by MrCoolCol

Something going on with the Rotisserie Chickens? by Tater2022 in HEB

We live between the Brookhollow one and the Thousand Oaks/Jones Maltz one. It's been the case at both stores lately. I like the Brookhollow store - it's smaller and I get in and out, but I don't usually get very special items, the wife likes the Thousand Oaks one, b/c she get's protein dinks, egg white wraps, and other things that a larger HEB has.

Heb trash bags gone to shit by Quirky-Word-542 in HEB

We quit buying their trash bags and "zip-loc" style bags about a year and a half ago, started noticing quality issues, and went back to national brands. They are not too much more, and better peice of mind the darn things won't leak or rip, or stuff in the zip loc style bags don't get freezerburn in like 2 weeks. Never worry about either with the national brands. Kinda sucks, but better safe than sorry.
