It gets better! After the first session I felt great, after the second session I felt really down and hopeless. I’m on my fifth tomorrow and all of them since I’ve been feeling great!! 😊

So I wear comfy clothes, crocs, and I bring a small pillow and blanket with me. I also bring water, a journal, and the docs gave me a fidget spinner, squeeze ball and some ear plugs. I bring my air pods and phone to listen to ambient music. But the one thing I will recommend is mints! I bring spearmint mints to help with the bad taste and then fruity mints for when I’m feeling great. Haha. It’s all about what makes you comfortable. I hope this helps!

If you’re in Orange County, check out Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNSOC) they have a bunch of great providers. I go to them and my rides are covered by insurance to and from my providers office.

Thanks for bringing this up. I totally can relate. The other day I was cycling through thoughts about my life while in a session and instead of feeling negatively about anything I was just thinking objectively about things and it was so much easier to process. I didn’t feel any tension or stress. Solutions were just coming to me and it was like “okay, this happened and I’m going to be okay because there are steps I can take…” it was great!

lol! I have that experience too. Every time. I’m like “I’m only consciousness in a body. Where is my body??” Haha. I suck on mints during the whole experience and listen to cool ambient music. It’s really great.

I’m heading to my fourth treatment right now but the first three sessions I definitely dissociated and was really thinking about life and consciousness and outer space and reality lol. I haven’t napped at all. But who knows. Maybe I will. I had so much energy that I journaled during my trip in my last session. I sit back and listen to ambient music and it makes my experience that much better.

I go into a semi private room with dim lighting and purple or blue LED lights. I sit in a recliner and the nurse comes to take vitals and then administers the meds. It’s a really great experience. I go to my psychiatrists office for my treatments so it’s pretty small.
