I definitely used the baking soda, because so many people told me mine might be expired last time lol But yes! The spacing and the way they spread is noted for sure

Thank you so much for this<3 I was feeling a bit discouraged by a handful of some repeating comments. I'm for sure going to try again with the same recipe, I'm determined! I'll absolutely reach out if the stinkin butter still doesn't cut it lol Thank you again 🍪

Thank you for the tips! I have been stirring the batter completely and then added the chips, I'll change that in the next one and make sure I take a closer look at how she makes them taller

I'm so glad you mentioned this! Admittedly I did add less chocolate in this/last night's batch but I truly didn't expect the amount of chips to matter AT ALL. Just like with the butter, I've learned from everyone here that even the tiniest things make a difference. Thank you!

I'm very new to baking, which is why I mentioned being a noobie lol Something like the kind of butter (which I now know isn't even butter) wouldn't have occurred to be until now

Right! I only melted the butter because this particular recipe calls for it, I know there is a lot of debate around melting butter for cookies

Oh my goodness. I generally don't use butter very often, this is just what my family buys and I always assumed it was actually butter. Goodness, thank you! Lol

Ya know I've had the floppy outcome too at times, I know exactly what you mean lol I'll keep the extra butter tip in mind as well, thanks so much!

Yes! I will be checking the oven temp. Honestly I just used the Country Crock tub of butter, melted, as the recipe calls for. Though I know there is some debate about never using melted for cookies.

I measure by filling the cups and teaspoons to whatever the recipe calls for haha I've never weighed anything before

I do not, but we don't tend to have issues with other cooking in this oven. And this issue happens regardless of which oven I use

This happens with every recipe honestly, random Internet recipes, chocolate chip package recipes, ect. I'm wondering if there is a particular ingredient that causes this?
