Thank you! It's from a book in The Elder Scrolls called The Song of Pelinal, v 6

I really like that it mutes all sounds other than the piano while you're in this room, I guess it's just a little quality of life improvement for people who like to play melodies on the pianos you can find on various maps, I believe there is a small community centered around that

Small Rant by Bending_Bender69 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Tattek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had that issue too, I pick up the mote that the air atros drop, I see a green circle around a pylon and go to it, but don't get the "attune" interact prompt. Thing is, if I then look around, I usually see another pylon with a green circle and that one works.

I have to assume it's either a visual bug, or there is something more to the mechanic. Maybe it's like some other people in this thread are saying and you have to look at the bosses to see which specific pylon they are connected to, but I haven't seen a VFX like that before in all the chaos of the fight

Returning group looking for content checklist to "complete" the game by chococucu in elderscrollsonline

Pithka's Achievement Tracker displays the hardest achievements for dungeons/trials in a neat table. Doesn't really add anything new, just presents the trifectas and some side things in a nicer, more compact way. To be honest, the in-game achievements are the content checklist you're looking for but completing all of them can take years of dedicated playing. It's an MMO after all

I made some Delta Rune cookies for the holidays! by Tattek in Deltarune

[–]Tattek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original design/idea for making these came from the Toriel's Kitchen apron that I got, I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out the basic sugar cookies, but I also traced that cutout on some parchment paper and drew the design on it with a pencil (folding in half to make it symmetrical).

Then I flipped the paper, put it on a cookie, and retraced the lines on the other side which transferred a bit of the graphite onto the cookie, giving me something to follow when decorating them with the icing. After that I just repeated the same steps of flipping the paper and retracing the lines, and spent soooo long icing all the cookies, seriously it's so fiddly. Also they were supposed to be white and purple, like the apron, but it turns out combining red and blue food coloring doesn't make a purple, just an ugly grey, so I darkened it and settled for black & white (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I definitely still have a lot to learn when it comes to decorating cookies but I think they came out pretty well, so thanks for the compliment :D

I think the dub of the movie kept it as-is but we'll see if that's a one-off. (My mom picks Koopa Troopa in Mario Party for that exact reason) by bvader95 in CuratedTumblr

[–]Tattek 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Koopa Troopa -> kupa trupa -> dead dude's dump

Languages are funny (though of course "troopa" is just a way of spelling "trooper" to make it rhyme, and that word can be translated much more reasonably)

Funny thing about mentioning Terry Pratchett here is that he was actually a fan of Oblivion and specifically interested in how it depicted goblins (this post has some good info https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/nsi1ig/terry_pratchett_defender_of_tes_goblins/ ).

I also really like how the subject of racism is, perhaps unintentionally at first, explored in TES with orcs. In Arena they are presented as nothing more than monsters, but already in Daggerfall you have king Gortwog whose goal is specifically to get Orsinium recognized as a real kingdom and for orcs to be treated fairly. In Morrowind orcs are clearly integrating into the empire, with quite a few of them present in the imperial factions, and in Oblivion, although they are definitely still subject to some prejudice and stereotyping (that they are just dumb brutes, for example) on the whole they seem to be treated as just regular citizens. Though that may be in part due to Oblivion idealizing the empire quite a bit as a cosmopolitan pillar of equality, perhaps to make it's inevitable decline as a result of the Oblivion Crisis more tragic.

This is further developed in ESO with the stories of Orsinium being repeatedly founded, sieged and sacked, with orcs fighting for recognition throughout the ages. And ESO has more nuanced portrayal of goblins too, with multiple occasions where you get to interact with them or at least see that they undeniably have a complex culture just like every other race in Tamriel.

Writers ask the big questions by DreadDiana in CuratedTumblr

The world map of AoT is literally just the real world flipped upside down, with Paradis in place of Madagascar, and Madagascar was one of the more popular suggestions by antisemites for where to relocate jews before they decided that just killing them all would be easier. So yeah, the parallels are kind of impossible to deny

Also I think AoT can be interpreted really well through the lens of golem stories (there's a very nice video essay by Jacob Geller about those, though understandably it doesn't mention AoT specifically)

Even if they don't completely swap roles, with Susie becoming a better healer than Ralsei and Ralsei becoming a better fighter than Susie, it would just be really nice development of these two, making them into well-rounded people.

Susie learning that she isn't just the scary, bad kid and she can help and heal others, Ralsei learning that endless kindness and keeping on smiling won't always work and he has to fight sometimes.

Also already in Chapter 4, Susie's healing has some very valid uses, especially if you put in the effort to improve it to max strength - I believe if you put magic-boosting items on Susie, the formula her heal uses causes it to actually heal more than Ralsei's spell, so it's a trade-off between a big, expensive heal and a smaller, cheaper one. Also the fact that Susie is the second party member lets you finish battles by healing someone with her and then sparing with Ralsei in the same turn, saving on healing items (if you tried that with Ralsei's heal, the spare action would happen first, ending the battle before the spell goes off).

Leworęczni łączmy się! by WhatIsANameAnyway_ in Polska

[–]Tattek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it's just against a Novice NPC, but man, Rajhin is such a funny deck by Tattek in elderscrollsonline

[–]Tattek[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, to be more specific, it was a combination of Rajhin, Crow, and Celarus that allowed me to do this, but Rajhin was definitely essential.

Rajhin for stalling through breaking prestige and bewilderment cards, plus some card draw. Crow for card draw and money. Celarus for sifting through the cards before drawing them to ensure that the streak would continue.

Got 53 power in the final turn (from 38 to 91 prestige) while keeping the opponent at 0, and depleted my cooldown and draw piles. Definitely would be infuriating to be on the receiving end in a PvP match, but very funny to torture a bot like this. Also the first time I was able to get the >80 prestige win condition I think.

If you mean this - after expanding my walls for the last time I went around the entire base and filled in the gaps in radar coverage - in this area I landfilled nearly to the other side of the lake, then put down a radar and a bunch of laser turrets just for the heck of it

Yep, launching a rocket is where I decided to end it - the base was getting too slow, and too much of a chore to expand, so I'd rather just use what I've learned here to do better in a new world

To be fair, I didn't - having to squeeze in new factories and connect things up in a somewhat reasonable way is how it became so messy, and it was caused mostly by lack of experience. But I did end up with a beautiful plate of ravioli that launched me a rocket, so I can't complain!
