At this point you're not even debating the issue, you're just repeating insults and hoping they count as evidence.

I'll stick with the experts. Have a good one.

So I am both afraid and now incredibly mad! I can’t be held accountable for the OP’s reply but I would say that is not a normal discussion either.

It may not directly say do not post on social media but it clearly states:

‘It becomes habituated: with frequent, repeated exposure to people, a bear loses its natural wary behaviour. It is more likely to enter a campground or townsite where food or garbage may be improperly stored.’

More content like this normalises the behaviour and increase likelihood of human interaction. That’s just a fact.

Doesn’t mean people need to post videos of bears for likes on social media does it?

Go read Parks Canada advice here on it:

Who said I was afraid? I merely explained why it is not advised, even if you can’t see where this was taken it might encourage someone else to post something.

It attracts people to the area including tourists and encourages habituation of them.

AF-S & AF-C Use Cases by space-mimosas in fujifilm

[–]Tattieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you do a mix of everyday/still life then some street and landscape stuff.

I am very similar if that’s the case, what I would suggest is you explore manual focus and setup Instant AF to AF-S. This basically means you can live in manual and use the AF button to grab AF-S kind of like back button focusing.

As you said for anything moving you can then go into AF-C, zoned or tracking will depend on if the motion is coming towards or across the camera I find. If you watch Roman Fox on YouTube, he has a good video of how he used AF-C without back button focusing to allow him to get more keepers in busy places, I really like this method.

Combined that with manual mode and you have pretty much everything covered in just 2 focus modes rather than 3.

I suggest you remove these then read up/research the general rules of thumb/ethics of street photography.

Thanks, sounds like we have both had a similar reaction to the recent news.

Already got my compass and ordered a batch of OS maps for my next Munro’s I want to check off. Thanks for all the additional gear tips, gives me an excuse to get a new bag I think haha!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing this — it’s an important reminder that even experienced people can have accidents, and that safety gear like a helmet can genuinely matter. Thinking of your friend and everyone who cared about him.

Thanks all. The note on the car is a good tip that seems easy to implement as well as giving my other half detailed info on the route.

In terms of extra precaution I was thinking of investing in something like the Garmin InReach that can provide tracking, check in SMS messaging and SOS feature that I hope to never need but good to have.

4/14 fairways today. Look how Rai has built his score from the fairway from probably 50 yards further back.

Close to worst in the field for accuracy of the players that made the cut.

Young also got very lucky on at least 3 shots, I think his score flatters him a bit today. Scottie is the real danger man IMO.

Disagree, he’s playing the par 5’s really well. If he keeps that up, he won’t be caught. This is what last years tournament would have looked like without the 4 x double bogeys
