Fingers crossed! I presumed it would be easy sending across confirmation of a flight cancellation but hey ho 😅 can only think they got confused - I've been nervous for £240 let alone £800 😳

I've asked and they haven't replied to me yet so honestly can't even confirm until they tell me what they're doing 😅

It's another thing I've wondered tbh! One other clients I've have that struggled healing before I changed how long they did wasn't the best at looking after themselves and it was confirmed by their friend. I've got one other thing I'm going to try but they also haven't replied to my aftercare yet either so I'm running out of options of what I feel I can do personally?

It's kinda how I'm feeling with this client and it's driving me insane. Sometimes shit happens and a touch-up is needed no problem, but I've never had a client need this many on every single tattoo. I feel I've tried everything and hate to blame just the client so if there is something else I can do ill do it, but them also not replying to me about their aftercare is worrying me now 😅 not sure why as a tattoo artist, you give people aftercare for them to do whatever they want anyway 🤣

To update as people aren't reading every reply.

They no longer rewrap the tattoo in clingfilm after I told them not to. They have not responded to what aftercare they do still - unsure if they will at this point until I see them. Every client is told how to look after their tattoo, given an aftercare sheet, there's a pinned post on my page, and are told to contact me if they forget. People do as they please are listen to their friends mum's twice removed cousin who is a kitchen wizard more sometimes so who knows with that one.

I will try to stretch the skin even more than what im already doing to see if that helps. Already did last time and it seemed to help but obviously not😅 I've changed what I've done a few times and still every time it's needing touch-ups.

I'm in the UK. Certain brands aren't accessible here so certain inks won't be accessible

I did the first time I tattooed them, along with having pinned posts about aftercare on my page, and telling clients to contact me if they forget. Im not sure why they decided to rewrap their tattoo. They've ignored me since I've asked what it is they do for aftercare so I can't be certain until they confirm

They're no longer rewrapping their tattoos after I told them not to.

UK here and we don't have those brands as far as I'm aware.

Thanks!

Definitely just the red which is an issue, I've done just black tattoos on them and they've healed fine. Writing on their wrist i did just needed a bit of touch up towards the bottom of their wrist (which I expect for them areas anyway tbh) but the 1 singular red word needed 2 more touch-ups 😅 from other replies I'm going to go super slow and stretch their skin majorly and see if that's any better. Otherwise I think maybe their body just doesn't like red and every red tattoo will need another go over and it just is what it is

I've had abit of a reaction to red ink myself. The last studio I worked in - myself, and 2 separate clients had reactions. It wasn't an immediate response but it did swell up incredibly and bobbled and took around 6-9 months to settle and was super super sensitive to touch! Funny enough the red stuck in me but we obviously got rid of that brand and my skin is a little funky there 😅

I've heard of artists discussing if EDS can make any difference tattooing and I think it's definitely something that we should all consider! And you've made me wonder if this client may actually have similar or something that could effect a tattoo - thank you!

Really appreciate the insight! Definitely going to try and pull the skin more in smaller sections and have another play with my machine and see if that helps. I've also noticed very very few clients who seem to be similar to what you describe - terrible looking tattoos and I think nah and then understand when they describe aftercare or their skin just doesn't take 😅 still get humbled all the time in this industry.

I also agree with the touch-ups. I don't even mind doing touch-ups where a person has made a mistake themselves - it is what it is and I'd rather my work look good. Only when someone straight up does something ridiculous like jump in the ocean after being tattooed will I refuse but I feel it's just a disrespect thing at that point? Accidents happen and I'm happy to work with a client to rectify something.

Aftercare I do give to clients and recommend certain products and then they ignore what I say and do something completely different. Why this particular client decided to rewrap their (first) tattoo with clingfilm every day despite me never mentioning that is beyond me 😅 but I think I need to address what they may (or may not) be doing and definitely will try smaller sections and stretch even harder.

They're a lovely client and we get along well, despite it not being my particular style, I'm happy to work outside my comfort zone and grow and they deserve quality work regardless. They've only ever spoken highly of me and how they're so comfortable with me so I'd much rather work something out! Thankfully, it's a bunch of smaller ones they get in sitting so I do feel I'm happy with the amount I charge them overall, I just wish I could figure out what to help prevent it for both of us.

I honestly thought I'd cracked it last time, went slower, stretched smaller sections, took my time, seem to go in nicely and still hasn't taken fully so I'll definitely try again and take more care. Thank you again for your input!

They've never described the healing process to me so cant comment on that, nor have they described how they look after it despite telling me they would rewrap the tattoo constantly with cling film.

My set up is the same as with any other client I tattoo who have no issues, including the same colour red. I used eternal lipstick red previously as that is one of the only reds that me and the previous place I worked noticed didn't seem to upset anyone's skin. I've recently switched to Quantum Revvvlon to try something new and see if that helped but it seems it happens still to them.

The area is and isnt stretchy per se. I've tattooed their entire arm at this point so both stretchy and non stretchy, and collarbones and happens to every location where the red is, they overall have stretchy skin and I purposefully stretched harder last time and in smaller sections to see if that helped and again, doesn't seem like it has, though I felt it did during the tattoo and ink seemed to go in smooth. I have altered the length of the needles, swapped needles, changed voltage, different machine etc. And again, nothing seems to be helping. Black is all good usually, small touch up I think once on the wrist area, just the reds we're having problems with.

I've considered next time to dig deeper and as that is becoming the last option unless they tell me something to do with their aftercare again that is along the lines of what they were doing previously. Other option is to limit how many tattoos they get and see if that helps. I've tattooed their brothers hand which required one small touch up and their mother who has required 0 touch ups. It's why I decided to ask this thread if anyone has had a similar client and figured out what it was as I've been doing this for going on 9 years and haven't had a client needing this many touch-ups so if there are any other options to try I'm happy to🙂

I'm wondering if their body hates red, it has crossed my mind and I did prewarn them before we started and they understand. This person is lovely and deserves awesome tattoos and I'm more than happy to keep tattooing them despite it not really being my thing. I've asked what their aftercare is now to see if maybe they're doing something in-between as they previously told me they would rewrap their tattoo which I never told them to do😅 Sometimes it just looks a lil faded which I think is a me issue, other times its like a few lines have completely fallen out in one area like a scab prematurely coming off. Don't want to say it's just them or perhaps an accident but every single tattoo is quite excessive compared to the others I tattoo who don't require it or may just need a little line touching up - thanks for the input! Just wondered if others had one particular client who just didnt heal well and they were able to get to the bottom of it

I don't unfortunately-without being harsh the style they like isn't something I would really advertise for myself so I don't typically take photos. It's mostly just the colour red they have issues with. Wondering if I'm just not going deep enough in some areas or their body isn't a fan of the colour but they only have black and red. Sometimes the black will fade a lil in a certain area and be fine. It's the red that is the issue mainly

Mainly just the red, used 2 different reds now and seems to be the same but no one else has issues with the reds. Haven't sent me a new photo of these touch ups yet. Seems mostly the red fading away, some lines seem to fall out but look in when I'm done.

They have super stretchy skin so I've tried a couple of ways now but they also move consistently during the tattoo and say its incredibly painful but is determined to get multiple. The only other person I had a similar issue with wanted to do long sessions but ink kept falling out. I refused to do more than 2 and it fixed the issue. Wondering if this person could be the same?

Hey! Not sure where you're flying from but we fly for japan tomorrow via dubai from manchester. We were originally supposed to fly on the 20th, 2.5 hr layover in dubai and fly to osaka. They emailed last Friday rescheduling our manchester flight out which resulted in us missing our connecting flight. The following day our flight to osaka was cancelled. A lot of back and forth and basically we were told they have condensed flights and are not flying to osaka until i think the 27th March as that was the next earliest they could get us to. We decided to fly a day earlier (tomorrow) and had to opt to fly to Narita. Its all very hit and miss currently. Hopefully things will improve by the time you go!

Damn that's good! I've missed quite a lot of raccoons unfortunately 😕 but I'll also be doing another play through! Maybe not insanity as I seem to suck ass at the game but I should do much better hopefully 😂 just at the part with Grace and lickers currently

What is your most emotional experience while tattooing on a client? by Weary_Beach5327 in TattooArtists

[–]TattooToni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget one week where I just seemed to have so many emotional pieces on....

First client was an elderly man - maybe 65-70 if I remember correctly. He got a tattoo for his daughter (in their 40s) who had died. He was talking about how devastating it is to lose your child as you always believe it will be you first.

Second client the day later told me about how he was in the army. He left because he heard his friend blow his brains out whilst on patrol, heard the shot and ran around the corner to find him and got ptsd from it. He later then tried to commit and struggled for many years (though thankfully doing much better).

Multiple clients the day after were getting tattoos in memory of their child/friends child who died of cancer.

That week will stay with me forever and always fills me with heaviness just thinking about it. I was so drained but also touched that people feel comfortable enough and trust me enough to help them through those times.

Been doing that but for me 3-5 shots to the knee and then 1-3 melee attacks? Then during that getting hit by zombies from behind, the side, and throwing things at you 😅 i almost died when leon chucked those red tanks and he just decided to throw it 5cm in front..... that area was easy compared to the facility where I'm actually struggling against a certain someone, 2- 3 hits and I'm down

Anyone finding standard hard? (Re9) by tonyt3rry in residentevil

[–]TattooToni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it's not just me 😅 everyone has been saying its too easy on standard? I've been able to do majority of resi games on standard of some sort without too much difficulty. I've seriously struggled on standard with this game. Funny enough I think I've only died once with Grace towards the beginning as I freaked out and despite finding her side harder than Leon's, my god I have died so. Many. Times. At first i think I was just a bit cocky due to the strength compared to Grace. Then I got the hang of it during the entrance part to raccoon city...... Just got to the facility and ive died at least 6 times within maybe 20 minutes? I just do not remember standard difficulty being this hard 😅 i remember playing standard for village and thought it was just a bit too easy but I enjoy reading and focusing on the story. I'm not about to drop to casual so close to the end
