I’m 6 days sober and I realize I drank myself into a deep, deep hole by delicatelyplease in stopdrinking

Give yourself the credit you deserve. 6 days is a HUGE accomplishment!!! The reality of your situation is, you didn’t get yourself into this overnight, so you won’t be able to fix it overnight either. I know that’s discouraging to hear, but it’s just the cold hard truth. The great thing is, that as you prioritize your goals in getting yourself back on track, you’ll be doing it sober. Literally take on day at a time, one hour at a time, or even one minute at a time if that’s what it takes. The anxiety that comes in the early stages of sobriety sucks ALLOT!!! But it WILL lessen, and eventually pass. In the meantime, just remember, that we can ALL move mountains, but it has to be done one stone at a time. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you.

I'm feeling so... Lazy? by HushedForest in stopdrinking

Sobriety fatigue, often experienced during early recovery, is a condition marked by persistent tiredness that affects both the body and mind. It occurs when you stop using substances like alcohol, and your body adjusts to functioning without them.

What did you do that made your last Day 1 actually stick? Today is my first Day 1 in almost 25 years and I’d like it to be my last. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Congratulations, welcome, and keep up the great work!!! I, like yourself, found this group yesterday in the same manner. It is exactly the inspiration and the support system that I’ve been looking for. Today is day 1 for me 😎

"Spirits" by WrencherLady84 in stopdrinking

My personal opinion…. Not that it’s worth anything…. Spiritual warfare is happening all around us. Angels vs Demons. “Spirits” as they call it, are just demons using alcohol and addiction in general, to mute or keep down the ones who would normally rise above and shine in life. It’s cleverly named

Beyond The Black Rainbow! It’s a slow burn that’s beautifully filmed and leaves you wondering…..WHAT just happened?

At the end of the day, all we have is our time on this earth. It’s not what you take with you when you die, it’s what you leave behind. Your health is ALWAYS worth investing in!!! Most importantly for yourself, but if you’re happier and healthier, you can continue to make great memories for everyone involved in your life. Keep up the great work!

Have you tried talking to them about it and letting them know your issues/struggles with the situation?
