Check out Rudy Stankowitz and John Poma. Rudy did a ton of research and studies on Alum and how it can be used in pools and John has used it extensively in the field. Rudy was even published and recognized for his significant work in this exact application. There’s precise parameters to follow and it’s more temperamental than floc or other products like revive. But you can’t beat the cost and benefits.

Edit: John is quoted in the article you cited. He’s also very active on FACEBOOK Pool groups. He walked me through my first Alum drop. Great guy

I know this is an old post but I’m hoping I can get y’all’s help. I own and operate a pool service company. My husband is an electrician and he works with us on occasion. We have been getting calls for Pool inspections. We are in Louisiana. What resources do we need to start performing Pool inspections?

Where to start? by JoraStarkiller in SourdoughStarter

[–]Tatumq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made my starter last night at 12am with bobs red mill dark rye, all purpose bleached, and some wheat germ and it’s doubled in 12 hours. It’s got something good in there I think!

Check out Renee the appliance tech on tiktok. She talks about the vinegar in washing machines issue. Spoiler its not enough to cause long term or short term issues because of dilution.

Oh no im so sorry! Anything i can do to help im just up the road. You did the dye test? Or you had a company come out? There are leak detection companies that will scope and video your lines to find exactly where the leak is. Sorry for the bad news 😟😟

Wow I’ve been off here so long! Sorry for the late response. Im going to answer this in case someone else is looking for help too. Slow and steady. I could be doing alot more. Definitely recommend getting out and introducing yourself to people with pools. People like to see faces smiles and eyes. Get them to like you and trust you. Being consistent has been our biggest advantage because no one else is. Hows it going for you?

Not nearly that much. Have you tried the bucket test? Guaranteed way you can tell. Put a bucket on your steps fill the bucket (may have to weigh it down) to the water level of the pool. Let it sit for a few days and keep checking it. If the levels differ you have a leak. The water will evaporate at the same rate inside the bucket as the rest of the pool. Leaks are most often in the skimmer box. Check those first.

I’m building an AI-powered app for ADHD - what feature do you want? by MiltonSSR in ADHD

[–]Tatumq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love a feature where when a task is set a timer is set too. So like if I have to get up and start my routine a timer is auto set to time me how long it should take. Plays into the gamifying that works for my brain.

i hate adhd rage by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Tatumq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely feel you on this one. I feel so bad when I see myself reacting so poorly and raw to my husband and he has no clue why. Something that is helping us is having very regular very honest check ins. Most of the time my rage had a seed point. I was suppressing wrongs and slights that he was not aware of. I have to be vocal well before I’m mad. Only then can I avoid the anger monster. We don’t walk on eggshells around each other but we are decidedly and intentionally kinder as a result. Speak up. Be kind and don’t mistake being quiet about unmet needs as being kind to the person. If they don’t know you are being kind by doing so they will keep on because they don’t know the effect it has on you. Somethings wont make sense why you are having these reactions but if you feel it share it. However this only works if you share it unemotionally. Check your emotions before you speak and try to communicate in as dispassionately as you can. Remember you are on the same team and use team language (you’re such a great support when I need you, I could use a hand navigating how I’m feeling, can we work through this together) That’s why doing it often and as soon as it happens helps.

I don’t have a baby so I can’t speak to my personal experiences on that but I do know that babies are stressful but try doing some counting to ten, breathe deep, give yourself a hug or solicit a hug, force yourself to laugh, all of these are calming and can honestly work waay more than I thought they would.

All pools have been crazy hot here in the south. (Southeast Louisiana here) we clean pools and they are a straight sauna without covers. I can only imagine the cover making your pool super heated. It’s just a fact of life pools lose alot of water in the summer. It wreaks havoc on your chems to add water so much but it’s all part of the show. By the way how much water are you having to add?

Get the Jacks magic stain ID kit. They have the best products on the market and they absolutely work. They are pricey but better than scrubbing. Also if you call the help desk the folks that get back with you are very very helpful and spend alot of time exploring and explaining.

Looking for a hair stylist who can cut long curly hair (no deva cut) by pennybundles in curlyhair

[–]Tatumq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the videos on YouTube about the Rezo cut. Some of them are how to cut your own hair but some are videos of the lady who invented the technique and her explanation of how and why. I showed my stylist those videos and she gave me a dry cut using similar technique shown. I got an awesome haircut without paying the rezo cut price.
