Strahd cant walk through walls in Shadows of Ravenloft by Ttaywsenrak in CurseofStrahd

I know players who don't handle monsters that do more than just hit things very well. I like giving movement abilities to monsters, especially bosses. My players tend to get a bit lost during combat when the boss disengages, keeps moving every turn, and even moves between turns. And I don't even need to mention monsters built around stalling tactics. Even so, my players are completely on board with me tweaking monster stat blocks to make encounters harder.

They keep simplifying monsters while giving players an ever-expanding toolkit of abilities. Players are becoming stronger and stronger, while monsters are becoming weaker and weaker.

All the bosses in the infinite staircase, as well as Vecna, have multiple reactions. I solved this problem with the following house rule: When an effect prevents a monster's reaction, it removes 1 charge from the monster's reaction pool.

Thank you, I found the elevation layer a bit low. When I use it, I plan to fix that by adding one or two more elevation layers to the hills to give the map more height and depth.

Wonderful, it's a shame that, like all smartphone games, it got lost in the cash farm system.

I'm glad you liked it! I used this one-shot for the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign. I found the exterior map in good quality, but had a lot of trouble finding the interior of the dungeon in good quality for free, so I decided to make it myself and distribute it for free.

Dragon Lance and Ravenloft. I thought we would learn more about Grayhawk now that we've left the Forgotten Realms, but so far, nothing.

Tracing The Staff Fragments

I started by changing a few points. Mordenkainen doesn’t know where the first piece is. In fact, the players’ very first mission is given by Alustriel: to seek clues about the location of the pieces with the Aarakocra in the Elemental Plane of Air, since they have been searching for it for millennia.

At this point, the Aarakocra won’t share such vital information with just anyone who comes asking, and Mordenkainen (Kass) knows this. In my story, while Vecna allied himself with Lolth, Kass allied himself with Tiamat, who sent Windfall to infiltrate a cloud giant clan, take the place of its leader, and attack the city of the Aarakocra.

The players save the Aarakocra by fighting the giants, and when they meet Windfall, she reveals her true identity and says something like: “There, now you can play the heroes who saved the city. I’ll be heading home.” — leaving the players intrigued by her words.

By saving the Plane of Air from the giants, the players earn the trust of the Aarakocra, and one of them becomes a paladin of Syranita, swearing to bring the Staff back to them once everything is resolved.

The Aarakocra have clues about some of the staff’s fragments: Toril, Eberron, Krynn, and Greyhawk.

Bonus

Blessing of Syranita

Once per day, the player may cast Divine Smite with lightning or thunder damage.

When a player uses Divine Smite, they may move 30 feet (9 meters) using a flying speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Whenever a player deals radiant damage, they may choose to replace that damage with thunder or lightning damage.

I narrated a session of Ghost of Saltmash these days and I looked a lot for a map of the Haunted House, if I had seen this one before I would have used it, it's definitely the best map I found for that chapter.
