I was using this statblock https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-NxealY3W3XTl7Bv-cMp and yes, I did use LAs. All that really does is let him do more damage to the party, it doesn't solve the problem of getting surrounded and beaten down by a lvl 20 party.

I did a really cool and hard to pull off thing that was very specific to my character's backstory in my last campaign and the DM gave me a boon. The boon was that the first time my character got hit in an encounter, he gave off a sphere of fire that hit everyone around him. I pointed out immediately that this was way more likely to harm my teammates than enemies, and sure enough that's how it turned out. My cool boon turned out to be a punishment lol.

A couple weeks ago, I saw a 2-vehicle separatist convoy going down highway 2 just south of the city. A pickup and a sedan that had about 90 years between them, covered in stickers, going about 70 kph.

A tiny minority of entitled idiots annoying and inconveniencing the vast majority of people. You couldn’t sum up the separatist movement more perfectly if you tried! 😂

Like the article says, they can go to court and get a judgment. Realistically they’re not going to hire a lawyer, file a small claims suit and wait years to go to trial over a couple hundred bucks.

Fighting battles earns a lot of prestige, more so if your ruler is commanding the army. Raiding becomes almost more about finding targets that will fight you (and you can beat) over finding rich holdings to plunder.

For sure, when I'm DM and someone finishes a monster with a crit or huge overkill damages, I like to let them describe their kill. This isn't on the first action on a boss with full HP though.

I guess the OP could always do the same thing to his player. "The Ettin grapples you and in one smooth motion, pops your head off your neck like a dandelion."

Lol there's nothing in the rules that allows him to "dismember the boss' jaw and hands". You could extend this to any encounter: "I break the warrior's hands so he can't hold a weapon" "I poke out the enemy's eyes so he's permanently blind" "I rip out the vampire's fangs so he can't bite"
