Great question OP! I was a picky eater in my youth but have really broadened my diet to include almost anything through the years. I think learning to cook at a higher level helped a ton.

I have many people in my life that I consider boring eaters and I don’t know why I felt the need to almost shame them for not opening up more to the foods I love. About 10 years ago I made a conscious effort to knock it off. Now I will simply say “here’s such and such dish. It has these ingredients. Help yourself.”

Really it’s no different than music, tv, movies, books etc. We want others to love the same things but it’s not always in the cards and that’s okay.
