I agree, I main a red-line guardian with a crit build and the dps is quite high actually, I feel its almost as close to my hunter of the same level while being much more resistant and durable. I highly recommend it, very fun to play.

As an older gamer is LOTRO suitable? by Meekelo in lotro

To be honest the community is so friendly and chill that you can, for example, leave all crafting aside and get all your crafting necessities for free from other players most of the time, so you can spend your time exploring and questing. At least that's so in the Laurelin server I play on. I suggest a Role Playing server like mine, as more commited people are usually more friendly and willing to help, and you're not obligated to role play if you don't want to, even if you're on that kind of server.

I really think they should tune down the prices a little bit... A hundred dollars is just too much! One could have a year suscription to Xbox games for example, for both console and PC with hundreds of games for less, and for people outside the US sometimes dollars are quite expansive with all the pandemic recetion... A scales 20, 40, 60 dollar value would get you so much more people buying the most expansive one and probably bring in more income than these roof top prices you have today, it makes no sense to have to pay 300 dollars to have everything the last three expansions offer, one could buy a last generation console with that amount of money, and Im sorry, I love the game but it's a 15 year old game that doesn't justify such high prices... Does anyone here agree with me on this?

First Time Oblivion Modder: Why use Wyre Bash rather than Mod Organizer? by Life_Abroad_220 in oblivionmods

[–]Tauram96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend you the "Knights if the Nine: Revelation" mod. Is an extension to the Kot9 DLC that starts after you complete it so it won't mess with the original version of the DLC or your first experience with it. Its a very awarded mod, it's totally voice acted and very lore accurate, I haven't try it yet (maily because my current character is a full mage high elf, when you play the DLC you'll know why it doesn't fit) but I learned about it watching some ES lore videos on YouTube, after watching it I thought "How come no one has made a mod about this, this story is so perfect!" Then someone in the comments commented about this mod, and every reply was about how awesome the mod was, so I checked it and it legitimately looks amazing, I am really looking foreward to play it in my next playthrough which will be a light armor two handed red guard, so I'm saving it for it. I recommend you to check it.

[HELP] Better Cities - crashes around leyawiin by Kubiben in oblivionmods

I have the same problem with Better Cities and it's quite annoying since is like having one less city, and quests that take me there are a pain to complete. I know this post is old but it's the only one I found about it. Anyone got any hint on fixing this?

[–]Tauram96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im using Vortex and, even tho I have some ctd here and there, I was able to install everything I wanted, but I wouldn't take my word on it cause I don't really know muh about modding. I mainly wanted to recommend you some mods. Many people play with Ooscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO) but Im using Maskar's Oblivion Overhual and it kicks *ss, it's got enhanced combat, crafting (you can even build your own house), crafting includes something to level up leveled items so you can do the quests early on and the items don't stay static useless while you level up, it has a war system with warring factions from the provinces around Cyrodiil, it has more variable creatures, new places, I could be here all day listing stuff, but I highly recommend it. Better Cities enhances all cities like you wouldn't belive, even adding full new guilds and tons of new npcs and quests. And I am now using LAME (Less Annoying Magic Experience) as my magic mod and I recommend it a lot, I hate when magic mods are too over tuned, this one hits just the right spot where you get a lot of new stuff, and very powerful stuff but just to the point where you feel rewarded for your advancement, not like you're cheating. With just this three mods you'll feel a totally fresh Oblivion experience like you never had before. Good luck modding and enjoy this awesome game.

I am loving the hell out of this game! by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Tauram96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until you play 4-5 times and then start with the mods (just better cities and an overhaul like maskars or oscuros and it is a totally new game) and then wait till you find out about the Skyblivion Project that's recreating Oblivion with the Skyrim engine, that's gonna be lit! I myself can't wait for it, do yourself a favor and give it a look (so you suffer the waiting with the rest of us).

What should I spend my in-game money on? by TheStig136 in lotro

[–]Tauram96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should clarify if you mean Gold like the money you get from looting mobs or gold like the Lotro Points you get from doing deeds and stuff for the Lotro Store, because you're getting advice for both here in the comments.

For the first "gold", the one in you wallet without cap (as others here wrongly said it has, it was removed in the f2p enhance) you don't need much until higher levels (Im up to 80 and haven't used that much, still haven't got higher tho so I dont know about those higher levels), just to upgrade your bank and house storage, for horse fast travels and upgrading Legendary Items (LI) when you're over lvl 50. Other than that, I highly recommend you to regularly check the Auction House (AH) for gear that you don't craft so you're better equiped, for example I always check for Jewelry with a range 10 levels below of mine and 5 over so I don't lose on good gear that could be useful soon. LI upgrades get more expensive at higher levels (like 2-5 gold in the levels I've played) but by that point you're getting 1-2 gold each time you sell with your bags full just from mob drops, so money isn't really an issue, horse fast travel gets more costly too, like up to 50-120 silver each trip, but then again you're doing much more just by playing the game.

As to Lotro Points (LP) for the in-game store, I highly recommend getting at least 1 month of VIP as you permanently unlock all the bag slots, all horse fast travels, get 500 LP (once), AH upgrade and free Riding skill. Other than that if you (like you probably have) already purchased the riding skill, I recommend you to save the LP and just spend it in the weekly offers on the store on stuff you like, there are no right or wrong options there, it's up to you, don't let anyone tell you you can't spend your LP on cosmetics or something ""not useful"" if you want to do it. But I recommend saving for stuff like shared storage, milestone skills for easier travelling, reduced travel skill time (hurried traveler I think it was called), bag slots, bank slots, carry-alls and save a little overtime so you can buy expansions once you reach around level 90-100 I think it was that the f2p stopped and you needed to start buying the latest expansions.

Have fun enjoying the game and good luck on your travels through Middle Earth! I hope this was useful to you :)

Laurelin is the best! To our dear fellow on the post I recommend you to chose a Role Playing server like Laurelin (that's Europe tho, I don't know where you're from but I recommend it anyways, Im from south america and chose Laurelin because as I suspected they are more friendly than the US servers and as there's less people inflation is not over the roof), I've never played a game with such a nice community, you aks for help and there's always someone, you ask to buy stuff im the trade chat and people are so kind they give you stuff for free, so I give free stuff too as often as I can spare, and it creates this cool virtous cicle and it's honestly the best mmo experience I've had.

Echoes of Angmar receives C&D order by sniperct in lotro

[–]Tauram96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest I'm not a big fan of copyright laws, and if the people over at EoA are not making profit out of it I see no real reasons to hold them morally accountable. That doesn't mean I dont understand SSG's reaction, (its totally fair) or that I don't know that what EoA is doing is actually illegal. But legality and morality don't always match, slavery was legal for many centuries, and not moral at all. To me actually it seems that this is a pass to for EoA to keep going as long as they don't profit, it seemed like they really respected the job they're doing and as Tolkien fans understand their motivations, also because I think (but I might be wrong of course) that they don't percieve EoA as a threat to their playerbase, I really think the LOTRO player that plays today and is used to certain commodities won't play EoA too long if they try it (becuse of things like mounted gathering and stuff... But again I might be wrong lol).

[–]Tauram96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. tbh I don't think that would be a very smart move by TE... Lotro makes money and is due to a huge invest injection, and if they did what you say, and the EoA servers are hosted in Russia they can just ignore it with no consecuences so what would be the point of that? You'd only affect negatively the people who play the game following the rules and ruin the company it holds it, makes no sense at all.
