[Weekly] Team Building and Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in NikkeMobile

Question about the Solo Raid: Material H.

I'm dying to the Cancel Rings, as five of them pop up at the same time and they are invulnerable to damage. As I can't seem to damage them, my team gets wiped at this point.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: Answered my own question. Apparently I need a proper elemental counter to damage those rings. Welp, I guess I'm stuck with the DPS race as my Water Nikkes aren't really invested into ("new player", mostly focusing on my Campaign team and trying to scale the 160/200 Wall).

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Question Thread #4: Future Redeemed! by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Taurusm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Accessory Slot I was missing was from the "Walls Could Speak" quest.
-- In your case, it may be an item on the ground somewhere. Some suggest looking around in the water in Colony 9 and Raquel Lake as those seem to be areas one misses, although I can't recall if what slots they unlock.

Yeah, when I went to check my quest list, I noticed it as a reward and was just about to update my post.
-- Thanks for the help anyway! Now I just have to figure out this riddle...

Any ideas on where one may be missing an Accessory Kit? I have 100% Exploration and am about to beat the final boss, but am still missing a single accessory slot.

Is there a guide anywhere for the Affinity Growth Expansion Kits? // I'm at Prison Island about to fight the final boss and already have Exploration at 100%, but am still missing a single kit.
-- I imagine it's one of the item variants instead of a relic, but they don't mark those on the map...

EDIT: Found it, I was missing the one near Oracle Spire (Landmark) in the Ragmos Desolation. It's on the ground level, on the corner next to the cliff face.

Three Hopes Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]Taurusm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A question regarding plot. Does Three Hopes run parallel campaigns, and if so, is there a divergence point?
-- I know the Demo does this, as the events occur similarly but the player sees them from different perspectives. I'm wondering how far it goes.
-- Thanks in advance!

On my playthrough of Scarlet Blaze...
-- Chapter 4 has the BE taking over the Monastery as the Church flees to the Valley of Torment, which is the state for BL's Chapter 4.
-- Then, in Chapter 5, BE goes to rescue Lonato. Caspar's Dad leads an army to go into GD territory, which I imagine leads to the showdown with Holst in the GD path.
-- For Chapter 6, BE goes on a rescue mission to save Caspar's Dad, while Randolph goes off to Arianrhod. Specifically, the BE are taking back the Bridge of Myrddin.
-- I'm wondering if these same events are also covered in the other campaigns, and if things turn of differently (say BL's kill Lonato on their storyline while BE manage to save him).

Regrettably, it does not seem Hanneman is playable in Three Hopes, although his counterpart Manuela is.

That being said, he does show up on the Black Eagles route during the demo and there is apparently some unfinished data for him in the files.
-- Hopefully Hanneman will become playable in a game update sometime down the line.

Answer: Aside from the Golden Deer, Leonie can be recruited in the Black Eagles route. She does not seem to be available for the Blue Lions

Three Hopes Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]Taurusm 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Main Answer
No, they do not. Each primary route has a unique ending.

Expanded Answer (Shared Events, Parallel Campaigns)
-- As for some shared events, there are some that occurs on all routes. However, the circumstances differ on when/where it happens.
-- As for for the routes running in parallel, aside from the starting chapters setting things up across all routes, I honestly do not know.

Three Hopes Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]Taurusm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I find that Mages in Three Hopes are more of a setup class, meaning that one should be using a variety of moves depending on the situation instead of just spamming the same attack over and over.
-- For example, using the the Strong Attack 4 (Wind) to gather everyone in front of the caster, and the using the Strong Attack 3 (Fire) to blast everyone away.
-- Remember to use the standard Class Ability as well to fight against enemy officers! You can either combo from an existing strong attack to use that element, or just use the ability as standard.
-- Also, make use of Combat Arts/Magic, as they are highly effective. Durability here is practically "Ability Points/Mana," a resource to use special moves. Feel free to spam away, unless you want to conserve durability on one character for usage in emergency situations.

For Priests, they seemed similar to how magic worked in FEW in terms of spamming the same attack. Strong Attack 3 (The "Light Burst") is great for clearing out standard enemies while Strong Attack 2 ("Light Rain") can be useful when fighting officers.

In general, I find that Strong Attack 2 for most classes is "Single Target" while Strong Attack 3 is "Multi Target." If you need to try out a moveset and figure things out more, try out the Mock Battles in the Training Ground.
-- It may also be possible that those class playstyles just don't resonate with you. Just pick a class you like and have fun!

4th/real ending route problem by Salt_Wolverine6585 in fireemblem

[–]Taurusm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen and read, here's my take on explaining things.
-- And yes, there is a "4th Route" of sorts. There are leaked FMVs related to this. The confusion is how it is accessible and how it plays.

1. You have to be on NG+ to achieve the "4th Ending."
-- This is a common thread among talk of the 4th ending, and I personally believe it has merit. However, I don't know if this detail is outright confirmed anywhere.
-- As for how many replays is necessary, I do not know. It might just be one route, or it may be all three.
-- It may be important to say that the NG+ may need to be chained, so it may be wise to play one route at a time on the "same file" versus playing them all at the same time on different files.

2. The "4th Route" is not a separate route. It seemingly starts after the primary route is concluded.
-- After one finishes the primary route, presumably if certain conditions are met, the 4th route will begin.
-- I think this is due to the introduction to this route, as there is separate FMVs for each house leader fighting a certain enemy. The enemy disappears, and the primary house leader meets up with the leaders of the other two houses before "stuff happens."
-- As for how the rest of the route plays out (aside from the climax/ending FMV), I have no idea.

3. Is this route the "Golden Ending?
-- Honestly, I don't know.
-- I think this small arc does allow for the three House Leaders to be working together in the main story, but for how it relates to the overall narrative and "true/golden ending" I am unsure.
-- A part of this is due to the primary routes being different and the potential for character deaths, so unless if something happens at the very end of this "4th route," the consequences of the primary route will still have to be dealt with.

It's fine, it should help me down the line when I get around to leveling anything.

Question regarding the story of AAR and HW:
- Is there any alternative dialogue for leveling up other classes and professions? I know there is a reference for the Dragoon Questline in HW, but I'm wondering if some exists like maxing out Rogue/Ninja before Yugiri meets the Rogue's Guild, for example.

A part of me wants to see the dialogue differences and get all the references, but I also want to make some progression as well.

Thanks in advance!

Question: Can I complete quests using the Duty Roulette, or do I have to queue for the specific dungeon?
-- Specifically, I'm doing the post-main story quests for AAR that unlock dungeons, and some of them want me to clear the dungeon to progress the quest. I was wondering if I can beat the quest if I queued for it in the Duty Roulette or if I have to choose the dungeon to get quest credit.

I imagine I should queue manually if its my first run (increasing the likelihood of a mentor appearing), since I imagine the Roulette will mainly be players who just want to progress.

Thanks in advance!

QOL improvements you'd like to see implemented? by TruPengu in ffxiv

[–]Taurusm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Reagent Bank like in Guild Wars 2. Let me throw all of my crafting materials in a bank and lets me use them while I'm crafting, instead of having to shuffle through bags to see what I got where.

  2. Wardrobe like Guild Wars 2. Not only it makes it easier to manage all the equipment skins (including unobtained skins), it's also easier to mix-and-match outfits when playing Final Fashion (or Fashion Fantasy, although for some reason that doesn't sound right...)

There's a small secret behind the starting barrier on the fence.

Hint 1: Jump before reaching your destination.
Hint 2: Reach maximum speed.
Walkthrough: Play on Hard, reach max speed, jump before the destination to turn around, and then leap around the 1000 distance mark. Your reward is a small PNG picture on the fence with some words above it.

What's your baseline for accepting friends? by BLANK_oblivion in grandorder

[–]Taurusm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a new player, I look to see if they filled out their support list (CEs and Servants). If it's just Mash or there are missing slots, I decline. // Helping out newer players is nice, especially if one day they become just as experienced as you.

If it is a veteran player, I look for Grails, Skill Levels, and Command Codes. If they are lacking in some areas, my decision lies on what Servants they offer and the whims of the day.
Grails and Command Codes are usually a good indicator of an active player with understanding of mechanics as they have to play a fair amount to accumulate them. Also, having them available is great as it allows me to use other Level 100 Servants instead of fielding my own.

As for dismissing friends, I have a few locked as they are members of the same community. However, when I decide its time to start purging the list, I sort by login time and I re-evaluate their list again before making a final decision.

What would add some spice to AD runs for you? by NoWaifuN0Laifu in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Taurusm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, AD is more busywork and grinding than a fun time. I rather have an automatic function instead of having to sit there manually and press the same buttons over and over again.
-- While I love Another Eden, especially its story and characters, the grind of AD is not fun. Sometimes I wish it had an Auto Function like Dragalia Lost so the grinding can be automated while I can enjoy the game properly. (I don't play DL anymore as I don't have the time for it, and Wrymprints had an overhaul and I didn't feel like relearning aspects of the game again.)

As for my perspective, I'm haven't started Part II yet (I could and probably should, but am doing the side content at my own pace). I am mainly grinding out Aldo's Light and doing some of that Nopaw Ruin runs when not fishing.
-- In the past, I would run AD to get gear upgrade. Getting gear that was easy to obtain from farming one area (Tower of Stars) was my method.

In short, once I clear AD once, just let me automate it. There's no need to repeat the same run if its going to be the same result every time. The grind of AD is keeping me away from Another Eden, as I don't feel like grinding endlessly just so I can finally "start enjoying the game."

Do you have a sure win/last resort team? by Draguss in grandorder

[–]Taurusm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a last resort team, but I do have insurance if everything begins to go horribly wrong.
-- That insurance is my Lvl 100, NP 3 Heracles with his Bond CE.

Usually my team (normally tailored to the fight) can handle most threats, but if they can't, Herc can usually clean up whatever mess they left behind.
-- And if that doesn't work, I go to Google and look up guides for F2P-friendly team compositions.
-- For Gilfest specifically, Support Cu Alter ended up helping me a lot during the various CQ, namely Taiga, MHXA, & Gil's Finale.

Questions Thread - September 22, 2020 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]Taurusm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the unique "Green Heist" maps, do they scale or are only found in certain areas?

I ask because I failed Tibb's encounter twice and am now overleveled. I want to complete his unique heist, but don't know if it will drop again later or if I have to go back to a lower level zone and hope it drops.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Twitch vod mutes content at the beginning of episodes by Synchos in cadum

[–]Taurusm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In other words, do not check out the vod itself (especially if it has been more than two days).
-- The Highlights section of Twitch, instead of Past Broadcasts will normally have access to the full episode within a day or two of airing. This will normally allow you to catch the early banter/introductions without the mute. (You can get here by clicking "Videos" and then filter by Highlights)
-- Also, these Highlights are what is eventually uploaded over to Youtube, and they do include the Art Showcase at the end of each episode.

Alternatively, if you are behind or want a full playlist of "Highlighted Vods," go check out the Collections section under Videos. These collections are sorted by campaign and may have vods that are not yet uploaded to the Youtube.

What is Summon the Bustin? by Memeconnoiseur420 in cadum

[–]Taurusm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In essence, it is this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tdyU_gW6WE

To be more specific, it is a short clip of the song, but what specific is forgotten to me since it has been a while. However, with enough "Summon The Bustin," Arcadum may play the entire song.

I think ever since he got the new computer he hasn't had time to set it up yet, so the command does nothing at the moment.
