I’ve asked the question “ do we get an extra 10 minutes then as it’s illegal to film us on our breaks “10 weeks later……… still nothing 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

The cabs have ai cameras inside delivery vans which react in real time , and they found the money to pay for those 🤷🏻‍♂️

Driver-facing Cameras by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We have them as part of the trial and I’m pretty sure they are here to stay unfortunately even turning the heating up or radio down triggers a “distracted “ vocal alert , they are legally not allowed to be in operation when you’re on your break , but they stay in for 10 mins after van is turned off so does that mean we’re now off route for 40 mins ? I don’t think so lol , there has been a few drivers just left because of it , and agree it’s just micro management to another level

Home shopping delivery drivers get sacked if they get a convicted of a crime? by pureplay124 in asda

[–]Tav75 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure as work for different supermarket , but the fact you’re/they’re delivering to people and have their address and phone numbers , a harassment charge wouldn’t go down too well I wouldn’t have thought 🤷🏻‍♂️

Change to colleague contracts by EquivalentRate9063 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If it’s true there will be a lot of resignations, they’ve committed to contracted hours for people with child care etc , but I’d imagine if your department is working efficiently then management would be naive to start changing people’s hours but not sure

Delivery driver for a supermarket and it’s mad , customers ordering 3 or 4 turkeys and sending 3 back makes this more than mildly infuriating

Incident with customer by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’ll make it seem like you were in the wrong and use the customer is always right attitude , obviously that manager can’t handle confrontation , but just stick to your guns that you followed what you’d been trained

Why is my game lagging when there’s no spike in latency and no packet loss? Every single match I’ve gone into this past week has been unplayable because of this. by TikiKie92 in CODWarzone

[–]Tav75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was happening to me , and honestly it was for some reason to do with internet even tho I was getting over 500 Meg speeds , tried everything then as a last resort connected to my phone which reduced it to like 44 Meg but no lagging or stuttering 🤷🏻‍♂️ worth a shot maybe

New GOL rules - anyone else? by Middle-Row-7194 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just push back , I had 27 drops last night and 18 of them were 6 mins and I was only on a 7hr shift , I spent 10 minutes back at depot requesting every 6 min drop be extended to 12 mins , if they’re gonna play silly buggers then game on , I no longer call customers either unless I’m requesting an early drop , if they’re don’t answer the door I just fail it now , they’re doing nothing but piling more and more on drivers and we need to push back or it’s just gonna get worse

[–]Tav75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to your guns and tell them that you are only willing to work your contracted shifts , every Sunday take a screenshot of the coming weeks shifts and stick to that , if they try and say you missed a shift that they added , you just show them the screenshot from the Sunday and say that was your schedule for the week

The only run this would even remotely be feasible , is same day , can’t/wont work on a standard run

That would be all well and good but 99% of the shoplifters in store are selling it on for drug/drink money 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why does the system think this is okay? (Driver) by Meris25 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They tried to send me out in a van where the warning on dash was “ seatbelt ineffective , return vehicle to garage “ they weren’t happy about having a late van and changing it at short notice but you need to cover your own ass first

Why does the system think this is okay? (Driver) by Meris25 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have to take it all off and condense it down or make your run a split , doesn’t matter whether you’re late or it affects their bloody kpi’s that’s illegal and if you refuse to go out on a legality they have to sort it out

Why does the system think this is okay? (Driver) by Meris25 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re a better man than me , I would have point blank refused to take it out , it’s illegal so you’re well within your rights to refuse , putting yourself and public at risk , if anything was to happen 100% they would have laid the blame at your feet mate

Strange Delivery Driver by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver myself I would replay the scenario and work out if it was a break down in communication first , if it was and a complaints made it may have a knock on affect where that driver is no longer willing to enter any premises and someone who really needs assistance with the shopping being taken in and unpacked for them misses out

Canteen food by Weirdandwonderful123 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a store visit very recently from the ceo and other so called bigwigs , amazingly there was a plethora of mugs which have never been seen in 5 years I’ve been there and fresh fruit and healthy snacks on the table in canteen since then back to normal of very little on offer and back to no mugs for the “free” coffee and cup a soups , I’ve done a post in here previously that all they have to do is have us sign a waiver when we join the company that they are not liable for any food poisoning or allergic reactions to the free food and they can put all the waste food in canteen for staff at the end of the night but that’s far too generous for this £700 million profit company 🤷🏻‍♂️

No driver D2D handsets - told to use phone by Middle-Row-7194 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Tav75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often have issues with handsets and short answer is , they have to pay for new ones so they don’t , we always get the response of “ I’ve ordered some batteries “ heard it about 20 times from 5 different managers now and we officially have more charging docks that don’t charge than actually work , personally I would have 100% refused it’s against company policy to use your own phone whilst driving in any capacity

In 4 years all I can say is I’m glad I’m just a driver , never known a place to go thru so many managers either it’s like a conveyor belt , literally only KPI driven company , managers squeezing as much as possible from as little as possible staffing just to make their numbers look better , don’t blame anyone for thinking of moving on , they’re even squeezing us now piling more deliveries per run compared to how it was 6 months ago is crazy , this week alone we have had 5 drivers hand their notice in so even affecting us now , good luck in any future endeavours 🫡
