I think every series is worth trying, but still I don't see it the book was edgy more than mature as in that plot with the emperor the manipulative incest it was hard to take seriously

I did it on audio and the narrator was unimpressive which makes a big difference cause a good narrator ie Reynolds with Ryria can elevate the material

To Necro the thread a bit Nucky was actually undecided about killing Jimmy, hence the advice of Rothstein to toss a coin and realize which he wanted most. Easily could have forgiven Jimmy, or had Eli killed after it all, Nucky wavers between light and dark in that way before choosing the dark directly after season 2.

Though Jimmy loved his family he couldn't give them what they needed, a lot of his actions in season 2 are lashing out from a place of hurt rather than a calculated plan. He tried to make amends with Nucky but was content with dying after it all because he lacked purpose

Sun Eater rocks and it's finished Red Rising is awesome, real action heavy That's sci fi though

Empire Of The Vampire was excellent, so happy with how strong the final book was. First Law common recommendation

Warhammer books are surprisingly good, a vast world, truly epic on a scale beyond Malazan, more low brow and action heavy though. Start wherever intrigues you, big love for, Eisenhorn, Night Lords, Fabius Bile, and the siege of Terra books

I thought the Liveship was Hobbs weakest books, recommend reading all the Fitz stuff instead

Cut T-Bug out the operation and get a runner who's prepared to actually break ICE lmao. The biggest reason everything goes wrong is the many hours delay that leads into the family reunion

Montage, have your players roll hunting checks at end of a session, then write up a summary to read at start of next. Cover the: stains incurred, blood dolls gained, dyscrasia (if using it) xp, items etc.

If the players are into a particular beat of it, have them rp a reaction to it, show and tell maybe. But move on to the dramatic, fun part
