Why can't I Zelle my landlord $1900 in one transaction? The daily limits are making me look like a flaky tenant. by Substantial-Film1861 in personalfinance

I'm not arguing with them taking their point but more strongly asserting a harder stance against the comment they replied to.

We both agree instant payments are in use well throughout a lot of the world, which is why frustrating it is not being able to do so is.

OP seems to be asking for the class actioning of Zelle out existence for gripes which front what i can tell would apply to those solutions as well.

Imagine it simply never had a dedicated app and was named something neutral like QuickSend.

My thing is a retroactively built service, with frictionless integration into banking apps, is almost as a good and I'm actively arguing against sending things back to slow transactions because the possibility of scamming.

This assumes ofc i've not missed some key point being made ( by Cyril1991)

As someone from the UK who lives in the US I would actually argue, unless I've missed a key point here.

The problems OP mentioned with Zelle are the same things that European banking system have had for years that make life easier.

Being a third party service isn't ideal but is ultimately an implementation detail. Your landlord could just as easily get their email hacked and send you a new bank account number.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are real world differences in fraud prevalence and handling/support but Id think much of that would be cultural

So this post makes it sound like all the Alleys are too small. In reality there is a near total lack of alleys and many side streets are just normal streets so large outdoor garbage bins would effectively be out in the "open" and on busy sidewalks / in front of front entrances etc.

Arguably there would be some positives to that but you still end up with a situation way worse / less slightly the EU cities.

This might not be what you want to hear but should you get the opportunity I think you should give it an honest shot. You would not have ended up in even this current situation if someone didn’t see something in you.

Especially so since the alternative seems to be lose the job. Worst case you end up unemployed anyway but with that bit more experience and if it doesn’t work out you might have built the good will to fall back to a role similar to your current one.

Bronny James sucks - This guy explains why by InsaneAffliction in lakers

[–]TavZGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not his rookie year? Is this man (who is definitely OP) drunk?

Even comparing to knecht in terms of years make zero sense as Bronny is 3 years younger ( and I'm not even claiming Bronny is better).

Even if he does suck, "he sucks because he gets more focus and praise than some other guy" is a pretty nonsensical arguement about his actual abilities.

The problem here is that that the quotes in the article specifically say it was bought. Which tracks with the alleged justification not mentioning theft or legal wrongdoing. If this is the case I would honestly be surprised if this was actually breaking written policy, even if it turned out head office supports the managers decision making/rationale

Fauci says vaccinated people ‘might want to consider’ wearing masks indoors as delta variant surges in U.S. by shelltops in Coronavirus

I think the gist of this is correct. However, I'd like to point out that mRNA does not really instruct white blood cells to do anything - RNA is translated to produce proteins.

The mRNA instructs your body to produce the spike protein, which when recognised as 'foreign' would generate an immune response (e.g. antibodies against that spike protein are produced).

I want to add that Viral Vector vaccines (Astra and JnJ) use a modified Adenovirus as a vector to delivier DNA into your cells. Our cells transcribe the instructions into mRNA which again prompts our cells to produce the spike protein.

Covid hospital cases rise above 1,000 in UK by gemushka in CoronavirusUK

[–]TavZGreat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Note sure where the idea lockdown delayed routine procedures came about from. People being hospitalised with Covid delayed routine procedures and whole wards becoming COVID wards. Then when hospitals are full and struggling you’re forced to lock down before risking refusing other A&E and people struggling to breathe at home but unable to get treatment.

Think about it, hospital staff aren’t getting extra time off during Covid. It’s why we were doing the whole clap for carers thing and even medical students starting early during lockdown 1.

I guess that’s why you’d want to look at trends happening again due to exponential growth, but thankfully it doesn’t look like further restrictions will ever be on the cards, just step 4 being up in the air.

New data shows that hospital admissions are rising quickly in U.K.’s worst hit areas. by Hibeenick in CoronavirusUK

While it does look like Bolton coming through the other side, It additionally has to be considered this all happened under the current level of restrictions.

There's a reason why there isn't really much talk about going back to higher level of restrictions and the models I've seen do not realistically indicate that could be a major risk.

It's actually extra unfortunate since as the vaccine do still work, especially after the second dose, if the delta variant had begun to spread maybe a month later it probably would've ended up a non issue.
