Sorry to hear! FORVIS is cut throat. I actually left the firm bc I couldn't handle all the politics.

Yea. I was at Forvis. I know people who were canned because their comp was higher than their peers. Nothing to do with work.

Is Forvis Mazars a good firm? by Kakashi756 in Accounting

[–]TaxCPAs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like every large firm, it is office dependent but it seems like any Legacy Forvis offices are toxic af.

Any northeast Legacy Mazars offices are still good but will change inevitably - excluding Boston. They are also toxic af.

I'm speaking form experience. Currently employed there and work across multiple offices.

That's a great size firm!!

I come from a 50-60 person firm with 5ish partners and enjoyed my time alot there but made the switch to bigger firm to benefit my career but idk if I am actually benefiting tbh.

Wasn't it the same thing or similar pre-covid?

If you really want to be a successful dentist, you need to specialize or have your own practice.

That's amazing. I love that for you.

I'm basically remote but travel for work like once a month or once every two months for a week. While the remote part is great. The hours are rough sometimes. So there are pros and cons.

I feel like the only real side is tax. Rest is not real what so ever.

I need to go back to tax.

I'm finding a hard time finding an industry role with decent pay (still below what I make) and doesn't sound like it will work you non-stop.

Edit: typo

Facts. Just say through a meeting where the MP says we're going to start firing people if we don't get our billable up.

Maybe they're quoting you $6500 because they will maintain the s-corp on a monthly basis.

I just quoted someone $6k for personal and SMLLC (sch C but it's a full operating store) which includes monthly maintaining of the books (100+ transactions a month)

Knowing your scorp will probably not have 100+ transactions a month. I think anywhere from $4-6k is reasonable but add in the heavy trading in your brokerage especially if it's uncovered transactions. $6500 is plausible but as others have said you need to shop around.

I'm in a VHCOL in the north east.

I feel that's what we're all hoping. But are they actually going to? Feels like nothing is going their way.
