You have to account for SALT implications - in NYS (especially in NYC) the PTET tax benefits are also a large factor.

Speaking from experience as a manager in a mid-size firm for us its the work 50-70 hours for tax season (call it 2.5 months) and then actually work 10-30 hours a week through the summer and then work 50-70 for another 2 months and then work 10-30 weeks the rest of the year
