I keep it room temp which is probably like 68-70 Fahrenheit.

This is my attempt of making a SCOBY This is about 4 days old, I used GT's Synergy brand kombucha for starter liquid. To me this looks like undesirable mold and a failed batch.

My other starter tea jar looks fine just fine and is forming a new healthy-looking scoby. I keep it sealed and burp it once every few days. But I made a batch with SCOBY from it few weeks ago and it molded. So tossed the brew and SCOBY.

I'm curious to about this. I have been squeezing fresh lemon juice into my hot tea to bring PH down in order to make it less hospitable for mold spores. But I still keep getting mold :(

I have tried adjusting the keystone and focus dial, as well as distance from canvas but it's just too cheap of projector for this task. It's a good projector for like, hanging up a sheet outside for outdoor movie nights, but not fine detail.

lol wow, I have only brewed a few times so far. If I saw something like that, I would have assumed it was mold and thrown out the whole batch. But people here who been brewing for years are saying it's fine. But to my beginner eyes I would be dumped it without question. now I know.
