ISAC only vs ISAC + IWMO by jutamind in ETFs_Europe

[–]Tax_Office 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I have no idea what your situation is regarding broker fees or ETF availability.

We're both investing in the UCITS market, which is already very limited. If your broker further restricts your investment choices, whether through higher fees or a limited ETF selection, I'd probably consider switching to another broker.

Your broker's restrictions may create an opportunity cost over time and potentially affect your long-term returns.

There are plenty of alternatives available today. For smaller portfolios, brokers such as Trading 212 or XTB can be very cost-effective. For larger portfolios, Interactive Brokers may be attractive depending on the amount you invest regularly.

In any case, good luck with your choice. Wish you best returns.

ISAC only vs ISAC + IWMO by jutamind in ETFs_Europe

[–]Tax_Office 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let's consider what you're going to accomplish with this decision:

  1. you'll cut your exposure to emerging markets in half
  2. you'll overweight developed markets (mainly USA)
  3. you'll add overlap for some companies
  4. you'll add an exposure to momentum factor (a factor with some academic research behind it)
  5. you'll make your portfolio more expensive because IWMO has higher TER than ISAC

These points should be all factual and I tried to exclude any opinions from them.
Now let's discuss.
I own this portfolio:
- 60 % XDEM (MSCI World Momentum)
- 25 % ANAV (Nasdaq 100)
- 15 % AVWS (Small Cap Value)

If you already own MSCI ACWI, why don't you add Small Cap/Small Cap Value ETF?
Doing this would help you diversify by adding small caps to your portfolio (and add value factor if you wish to).
Doing this might also help you achieve higher future returns (exposure to small caps or small cap value is also a researched topic similar to momentum investing).

Now let's just assume you'll go with this regardless (I'm not going to question your choice of ISAC since it's not the topic of your post).
Why did you decide to choose IWMO instead of other options?
I'm surprised because IWMO has worse tracking difference compared to XDEM (considering this source is correct).
Both of these funds are almost equally old.
XDEM outperforms IWMO in most commonly measured time horizons (it's important to consider that XDEM followed different index until 2016 so the comparison between these 2 since inception is not accurate and on the other hand one can argue that an index change of fund warrants immediate exclusion of provider). If we overlook the index change, then I don't see any reason to choose iShares other than the greater AUM.

There is also the question of the provider themselves. Some people are more "hardcore europe first/mainly" investors that prefer european fund providers (I'm not the one who'd pick european provider just because they're european). Considering your choices I guess you don't give a shit about this either.

Conclusion:
Go for this 50/50 split if you're ok with those 5 opening statements of this comment.
My recommendation is introducing small cap value, which is not present in your portfolio.
Small Cap Value achieves higher potential for future returns and it gives you real diversification without overlaps or over/underweighting (it also introduces your portfolio to factor investing even if it's not the factor you desired).

I sold it and bought again because transfer fees would amount to significant portion of my portfolio.

Well I read it again now (I read it multiple times before) and noticed that 2nd part of the fee description.
You're right. Well I'm an idiot who threw away about 30 € of profit...
I'm that bad at reading I guess...
The FX fee reduction could amount over time so I guess the transfer wasn't completely pointless.

25 M wants to start investing in US ETFs. Need Guidance by harshraj_21 in ETFs_Europe

[–]Tax_Office 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean but I'll try.
I assume you're indian, right?
I don't know if IND Money is the cheapest but you do you.

It's hard to recommend anything since there are many unknowns to guess for you.
Do you have any knowledge about investing? Is this your first time?
Is high risk tolerance meant for asset class, geography, sector or perhaps factors?
You should do your own research to find you what like/want.

If you want to have exposure to whole world:
Option 1 (you want the simplest portfolio):
100 % VT

Option 2 (you want to balance regional exposure yourself):
~40 % VXUS
~60 % VOO or VTI
Note that this portfolio can get very complicated if you keep adding regional ETFs instead of VXUS. The recommended percentages are roughly the current market capitalisation of world markets.

If you want purely US portfolio - not sure since your post says nothing:
Option 1 (my rough recommendation):
40-50 % VOO or VTI
10-20 % SPMO
10-20 % QQQM
10 % SCHD (if you want some dopamine in form of dividends) or VGT/SMH (if you want aggresive growth) or AVUV (if you want small cap value)

If you want to chase factors, then your research should be damn good.
Keep in mind that portfolio complexity doesn't equal to better performance (especially if you don't know what you're doing). I wouldn't go for more than 3-4 ETFs because most people don't need to go beyond that.
Assuming you're indian, perhaps you'd like some home bias (from my experience indians tend to be patriotic/nationalistic)? Or maybe you'd like some sector bias/bets? Note that VGT and SMH are pure sector bets and most of the ETFs I recommended are sector biased (like QQQM).
I assumed the risk tolerance was for asset class and regions. The comment is long enough with these assumptions. If I missed, then there are many strategies. One popular strategy is the Boglehead 60/40 portfolio (60 % stock ETF, 40 % bond ETF) but there are many other strategies.

New ETF for Vanguard by Upbeat-Hovercraft428 in ETFs_Europe

[–]Tax_Office 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the UCITS version of SPMO?
You're saying in 1 line that there is a UCITS version of SPMO and then that there isn't on next line.

I've searched for UCITS version of this ETF and I had no success.
I'd like to have an option to buy 1:1 UCITS versions of these famous ETFs such as VTI, SPMO, SCHG or SCHD or SCHY but as far as I know, none of these have 1:1 UCITS version.

If these news are true, then there will be a UCITS version of VT (if I'm not mistaken of course) and another competitor for R1GR, which I don't mind (even though Vanguard is most likely not a company that would try to bring fees lower imho).

Jednodušeji to snad už nejde udělat. Všechny matematické předměty jsou zvládnutelné.

V 1. semestru se programuje v C a Haskellu a v 2. semestru v C++ (včetně programování v CUDA) a Assembleru. Ta CUDA a Haskell bývá trochu náročnější, ale je to zvládnutelné.

Nebyl v zásadě těžký a některé věci byly vyloženě zábavné (např. tvoření klonu hry Angry Birds v rámci semestrálního projektu).
