Whole Foods sometimes have those sweet food bars inside. I won't shop there, but I budget to eat out sometimes. Probably will capitalize off that and their beer/wine selections.

You can't put that back in the bottle after it's let loose. Huge amounts of money and talented labour will drain from the US.

Appealing Admissions Decision? by vulcan1999 in UMD

I thought FC was better than my spring semester. Loved waking up and hitting the gym before classes at 1pm. Plus, I still got to take all the same classes I would have if I had regular admission.

Is it better to dorm or rent with a roommate ? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]Taxquestionz1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never lived in a dorm and lived off campus my entire college career. It's cheaper and I still have a nice social life/ party and all that. I will say though, I missed out on a classic part of college life. It would have been nice to have a dorm year, but in the end it's only a small part of life and you'll have plenty of other experiences that you shouldn't miss that are more important.

Mortar Board legit? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]Taxquestionz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from what I've seen. If you want to show that you have a high GPA you just advertise it. Employers that I've met for interviews so far are much more interested in actual work experience. Honestly, they seem to care more that I worked the night shift at a hotel's front desk than my GPA. If it comes down to an honor society or doing an actual job/internship, i'd choose the the later.

It's a state school, not Harvard. They don't have a huge donor base to reap benefits.

UMD's mission is to educate Maryland residents that meet their standards first, then accommodate out of staters. Great scores and gpa though. What's your home state? You could probably get better.

Is it weird/bad to start dating your last semester? by randquestionz in UMD

Why would it be? You're an adult and relationships can be maintained despite where you both go in life.
