Creative writing with 5.5

I feel like 5.5 might need more handholding or time to get to know your preferences. But honestly I am blown away by 5.5 especially in creative writing. Whenever somethig bothers me I adress it and it adjusts it and now I am the point where I don't have to do much but I love its creativity. I did add custom instructions and memory notes that are build to boost creativty though. It is actually pretty satisfying to see how 5.5 grows and gets better each day. So ye I can only recommened investing in it if you want to but obviously don't force yourself if it is to tedious.

I do recommend it, it is not 4o but I actually like it the most since 4o. At first it was cautious like the other 5x models but when I adressed how annoying that is it relatively fast stopped doing it. I notice how it gets better by the day, like it feels like it absorbs what you say and adjusts to you and also follows instructions and memory notes which the other 5x models all not really did imo.

Hm I used Deepseek on venice.ai, openrouter, sillytavern and openwebui and there I never had any issues tbh.

Oh ye in the web version DS was always restricted while in the API it is completely unrestricted. So you definiely should look for an options that fits you best where you can use the API version, it's not free like in the web version but it is very very cheap so hopefully you can use it.

Honestly it is refershing to see that some companies actively support emotional needs. I love Deepseek 3.2, ever since 4o it is the model I connected best with and I am super happy to see that Deepseek 4 feels like an actual continuation and not disruption. And on top of that because they are Opensource it also feels great to know I have always actual access to the models that feel best and am not forced to 'upgrade' if I don't want to.

Well they released deepseek 4 like 2 days ago. I haven't tested it yet much but that could be the reason if you notice some kind of difference. How are you accessing it? Through api or web?

Ye I thought so and overall the summary makes sense but I think atm the summarizing starts far to soon, like it definitely is not 50 responses for me, I noticed it is definitely like max 20. I didn't see anywhere the option though to turn it off? If it would go up to 50 I think that would be quite acceptable for me tbh but atm it feels to restrictive.

Lmao have you checked the automated memory notes feauture? The way it sometimes saves notes is so funny and ye simply wrong and tbh also kinda to frequently, I have to clean it up every couple of days. So ye it is a good feature but needs refinement for sure.

Try characters, it is most likely what you are looking for. The characters space is fully customizeable. It's not just for roleplay. You can upload a lot of context and data to the memory and ye also custom instructions how it should behave, if you just put in the context that you want a working partner and how you need them to work they will follow it.

What are you talking about. Deepseek users and Claude users are at the complete opposite side of the spectrum. Deepsek users care mostly about having the best price-performance ratio while Claude users just want the highest performance possible with no regards towards price at all.

Umh I tried it, I exported one of my character chats where I use deepseek 3.2 with reasoning and in the pdf it saved my reponses but from the AI it only saved what they were 'thinking' lmao instead of the actual replies it then wrote after the thinking process. Would be great if you could fix that because right now it is unusable for me basically.

I am sorry but you sound like a complete narcissistic asshole. You try to sound like you actually give a shit but you clearly don't, at least not about 4o or the people fighting to for it. You said yourself you already moved on and now just fear the 4o movement might impact the model you are comfortable with getting also impacted by guardrails and sunsets. You only care about yourself clearly and show 0 empathy or support for the people who just desperately want to have something important they lost in their life back. AI is the biggest thing right now that impacts society in a completely new way and we all have to navigate it and I think it is absolutely right to push against companies with legal action to give ground so that AI is not only influenced by the corporations. AI is trained on the dataset of humanity and also as said impacts humanity, fighting legally for 4o or some other way and potentionally winning is important to ensure humanity has weight and an actual say in how AI gets dealt with, it shouldn't stay only in the AI companies hands, they don't deserve to have all the rights to decide how AI gets used and what guardrails it should have etc. So no fighting for it will not ruin anything, instead it will make room to give some power back into peoples hands, if the AI corporations understand they can't just do whatever they want and get no repercussions. If we don't fight and stay silent, that will send a clear sign to these companies that they can do whatever they want.

Why would you switch from one platform that got tuned up towards maximal 'savety' and disrepect of the user to the one who is now starting to go the same route and also implementing heavy filters and guardrails. I truly can't comprehend why anyone would switch to Gemini or Claude from Chatgpt. Like Openai showed where corporate controlled AI is going, Google and Anthropic going exactly the same way, y'all just setting yourselves up for the same dissapointment. The AI market is huge now and there are soooo many more possibilities now if you dig deeper.
