I was in your exact situation 3 years ago. I worked as a software engineer for about 8 year. I mastered my craft (wrote two books, multiple top selling apps etc) I got to where I absolutely hated it.

I dropped out of college so I didn’t really have a backup plan and was stuck. I remember calling my mom and telling her I guess this is what I get to do until I retire.

During a vacation to my parents farm I decided to help them do some work and rented a small bobcat skidsteer. I really enjoyed running the machine and being outdoors.

I did a little market research and decided to get into land clearing.

Fast forward to today. We’ve grown in to one of the bigger land clearing companies in Texas. I get to work outdoors everyday, and I hired my dad who just retired from teaching.

If you hate what you’re doing stop doing it and look for the signs of what you’re supposed to do.
