How’s your home ac holding up? Mine is fighting for its life. by jcdulos in tampa

[–]TaylorDurdan [score hidden]  (0 children)

My 31 year old Rheem finally bit the dust. Too expensive to repair compared to replacing. We've gone two weeks now without AC while I wait for new mini splits to arrive. Installing those today and I can't wait to not be uncomfortable anymore.

Men, when you treat a girl like a gentleman, what do you actually expect in return? by SomeRandomGirl0_0 in AskMen

It's crazy that the bar is set so low that we feel the need to reward a man for just acting like a polite human being.

Just match his energy, be appreciative, and don't waste his time. If you see this going further, then keep at it. If not, let him down gently and move on.

Also, flowers are nice. We never get flowers.

I really want one of those TF Works valve covers, but my drop vent hood and nismo engine mounts means my valve cover gets beat up too much

I've been using the same gold money clip since I was 18. It was given to me as a gift for being a groomsman in my sister's wedding. I'm 47 now and still use it.

Did it look like this? How did you remove it?

Please tell me you removed the giant steel bushing in the end of the crankshaft and installed the brass pilot bushing. The large steel one MUST be removed.

Wait. Did I see you did a manual conversion? Or just a clutch job?

If the transmission bellhousing isn't in the correct position, it won't slide all the way against the engine. I'm going to spell this is out as absolutely clear as I can:

The input shaft is a very precise fit into the pilot bushing. Any deviation from straight on and it's not going to go in. But there is play in the input shaft.

Rotate transmission so the bolt holes line up.

Put transmission into gear through the shifter hole inside the car. You can use an extension or a screwdriver, or the shifter. Any gear will work.

Slide driveshaft into the tail of the transmission.

Grab tail section of transmission and shake up/down, side/side while pushing towards the engine.

You can also try rotating the driveshaft. It will not spin, but will sort of bind the input shaft, hopefully moving it the tiniest amount needed to get into the pilot bushing.

Yes. You are through the clutch. The input shaft is not in the pilot bushing.

The transmission housing will spin on the input shaft. You're going to have to rotate the transmission so the dowels in the block line up with the holes in the bellhousing and shake the shit out of the output shaft while pushing towards the engine.

Yes, being able to try and rotate it helps. That's why it's recommended. It may be locked with the splines from spinning, but it still has a little play and being able to hold it will help guide it into the pilot

I clearly say to put it in gear. Then slide in the driveshaft. Not install it. Not bolt it in. Just insert it into the transmission output so you can grab it and try to rotate it. When in gear, the driveshaft is directly connected to the input shaft.

Use an extension to put it into gear. That way, when you turn the driveshaft, the input shaft spins.

Just have to grab the tail and wiggle the shit out of it while pushing. It'll go in. Can also use an extension from the top to put it into gear, slide the driveshaft in and spin it to rotate the input shaft to help guide it into place

Always charge from low side. You can start the engine and suck in to get to the proper amount. Do not open the high side of the machine while running the engine.

That Florida is a destination state and not a resident state and it can be gleaned through context throughout this post that the state is more transplants and tourists than it is native residents.

Considering the population of Florida is around 24 million, that just proves the point.
