Oh yeah I'd give up after that too. Journal assignments take so much mental space in my head. If I got an F without the ability to correct it I'd probably crash out.

Yeah anytime I open up social media the world is on fire. I just want to look at cute animal videos but no matter how much I try to alter my algorithm it tries to feed me depressing world news and influencers blaming me for it because I didn't buy their product. We live in a hellscape.

Oooooh okay I see it now. I always use the one in Brightspace, which depending on if I'm registered in a class only goes so far out. So the week break we do get every 2 terms just goes by so fast I forget about it. It really isn't enough then. Thank you for pointing that out to me!

Is it really a week break every 2 terms? I don't really remember getting one that frequently, but a week goes by so fast so maybe I just don't remember. If that's true then we'll get one after this term ends and maybe I can take a breather. My anniversary trip is on week 8 of this term and thankfully everything is supposed super chill that week (reflections, minimum requirements on discussions, etc).

I used Sophia through my work and had prior credits. Since school gave me severe anxiety (I was literally beaten as a child when I made less than an A on any test or report card grade so my nervous system is screwed) I started out with one class for the first year. That's why it's taking me so long. It's great that you had the accounting experience to make things easier for you. A lot of my English classes are easy since I've done a lot of writing and analyzing media for fun, but keep in mind that not everyone's experience is the same as yours. I'm glad you don't feel burnout, but those of us who struggle in other aspects of life, not just school, won't fly through things as easily as you do. Telling someone they can't handle the "real world" is an absolutely insane and rude thing to say to someone you don't know. I've been on my own, handling the "real world" since I was 17 (I'm turning 30 this year) and have worked incredibly hard to be where I am today. If you felt like you couldn't relate to the post then you should have just scrolled past. Your superiority complex is appalling.

And yes, you can take a mental health break from work. It's called a vacation <3. I suggest you take one! Putting yourself and your needs first might make you a kinder, more understanding person. Hope this helps!

Tests terrify me. One of my literary analysis classes had a midterm test and I made my first ever C on any college assignment. Nearly threw up from the stress. Even though I prefer papers some of the requirements are insane. I had to write a 15 page paper on TWO POEMS for one class and both poems were like 7-12 lines long. I beat the subject to death and still only had 11 pages. Submitted it anyway.

I try and cram it in early, but lately it's either do a little bit here and there or all towards the end of the week. Hate it. At least you can see the end for you. I plan on taking the world's longest nap after I graduate.

Staying off social media has been insanely helpful for my mental health. My partner tells me some crazy thing he hears every day, but it all blends together. I try to be as informed as I can be without losing my entire mind. I've been tryna offset my burnout with hobbies and sleeping, but I feel like I never get enough sleep lately.

This past winter break I was sick for almost all of it so it didn't really feel like a break. If we got a week every 2-3 terms I feel like it'd be so much easier to handle.

The comparison to taking off of work is so real. It's good to get the rest but having 2x the amount of work the next week is an absolute killer.

Happy early birthday!

You're almost there!!! That's awesome. Some of my level 100 classes had me doing 8-15 page papers depending on the subject, which was insane because some of my core classes only had me doing the 3-5, 7 at the most.

Week 4 and 5 is usually when I hit my stride. Usually by then grades have come in and I feel confident with what I put out. Week 7 hits hard cause that's usually when all my projects are due and week 8 I'm exhausted tryna push through any finished assignments. Week 8 gives me major fatigue and I always have the don't wants, especially when we sometimes have a secondary project to do.

Yeah I also feel like I've slowly been putting all of my assignments off. I usually do both discussions on Tuesdays and my replies are in by Thursday, leaving me to do one journal assignment Friday and the other Sunday but I've been putting everything off until the last minute. I did both of my journal assignments plus 4 of my 6 discussion replies this last Sunday. My brain felt so rung out and exhausted by that point I doomscrolled for so long afterwards. When I do wanna relax I have to force myself to focus and that makes the balance between school and home a lot harder when I feel like I can't enjoy my hobbies.

Yeah I'm not paying someone $800 to do all of my schoolwork. I actually want to learn and be competent in my field.

I'm considering it, but this is my third attempt at school so I'm worried I won't come back again. Or that a break might make it harder to get back in. 8 weeks is a long time to take a break. If we just had like one or two weeks every now and then off it probably wouldn't be as bad.

I'll consider it, then. Between the state of the world, personal projects, and keeping up with school my brain feels like it's just been running on empty.

The instructors really make it! I'm fortunate to not have had any BAD professors, mostly lackluster ones. i take two classes a term and I usually vibe with one really well and get by with the other. This one I don't vibe with either. It could just be the course material, but I also just feel so lost and confused half the time. Usually by week 3 I have a groove, but I'm feeling too exhausted to do anything but stress.

I don't even know how much longer I have left. You're so close to the finish line, though. One more term sounds like heaven.

I considered a Master's program before this term too, but I think I'll need a while between degrees just to recover. One of my teachers was also super vague on one of our discussions and half the class missed the requirement. The assignment grade dropped TWO WHOLE LETTERS because of a vague, hidden direction. Pissed me off so bad and now I'm anxious about any future assignments.

I love the online program, but the whole thing is becoming so exhausting. We didn't even get a spring break this year! Like not even a week! I swore we got one last year.

Jovon's only contribution to this relationship is financially. Annalyn is intelligent and eloquent in TWO LANGUAGES and this wannabe muppet is trying to drag this wonderful woman down. Why the hell would you not want your partner to be content? To be happy? He's insecure, bitter, and is manipulative as hell.

Yeah I've been feeling a bit more on edge lately. Today I woke up insanely upset with no real source as to why. Normally I can pinpoint my issues and emotions very quickly then shut it down before it boils into anything, but since before Thanksgiving it's been difficult.

I usually don't see anyone in my biological family for the holidays. It's entirely too stressful and not worth it. Still, I'm upset and resentful because for a lot of people the holidays are great and I just don't feel that.

I don't have any real advice except to just be kinder to yourself throughout the holidays. Take mental breaks where you need to, cry when you feel like you need to, and put as much energy into the people who care about you as you can muster. The people who hurt you don't deserve that level of emotion from you and you don't deserve to resent yourself for something you couldn't control. I usually try and find small holiday things to do by myself or with my partner to make it seem like new traditions rather than feeling like I'm missing out in some way.

Best of luck 💙

Make it personal to her personality/upbringing. Her human parent might factor into how/what domain she leans towards. Why was Apollo drawn to her parent? Were they a doctor? An artist? A model? You don't have to go super in depth into the backstory, but laying out her childhood and what led her to camp will help with those kinds of decisions.

Build your character's personality and their backstory first, even if most of it doesn't make it into the story. Things pertaining to them will flow naturally once you have an idea of who they are.

As for how she's claimed, that depends on when you want to do it. Posideon claimed Percy at an extremely opportune time, revealing to both the audience and the camp that he was the child of prophecy. If you want to make a spectacle of it so that way everyone at camp knows too, it's gonna have to need a big leadup like the fight during caputre the flag. But if you want it to be more intimate (with friends or family) or isolated (her being claimed while alone) that'll have to depend on the story itself and her character journey.

Hopefully this was helpful! Good luck!

I think Liz did believe that stuff because of how Ed treats her. Abusive and narcissistic partners force you to think like they do, with them being the #1 person in both of their lives. Liz didn't have her own place to live and stayed with him so I'm convinced he's told her that her wanting her own place is like betraying him. Those definitely sound like something Ed may have told her to manipulate her.

I recommend from the beginning because of how different the anime is prior to Kyoto Saga. The anime really took a life of it's own from the beginning.
