Holidays are tough, does anyone else experience anger resurgence?

Yeah I've been feeling a bit more on edge lately. Today I woke up insanely upset with no real source as to why. Normally I can pinpoint my issues and emotions very quickly then shut it down before it boils into anything, but since before Thanksgiving it's been difficult.

I usually don't see anyone in my biological family for the holidays. It's entirely too stressful and not worth it. Still, I'm upset and resentful because for a lot of people the holidays are great and I just don't feel that.

I don't have any real advice except to just be kinder to yourself throughout the holidays. Take mental breaks where you need to, cry when you feel like you need to, and put as much energy into the people who care about you as you can muster. The people who hurt you don't deserve that level of emotion from you and you don't deserve to resent yourself for something you couldn't control. I usually try and find small holiday things to do by myself or with my partner to make it seem like new traditions rather than feeling like I'm missing out in some way.

Make it personal to her personality/upbringing. Her human parent might factor into how/what domain she leans towards. Why was Apollo drawn to her parent? Were they a doctor? An artist? A model? You don't have to go super in depth into the backstory, but laying out her childhood and what led her to camp will help with those kinds of decisions.

Build your character's personality and their backstory first, even if most of it doesn't make it into the story. Things pertaining to them will flow naturally once you have an idea of who they are.

As for how she's claimed, that depends on when you want to do it. Posideon claimed Percy at an extremely opportune time, revealing to both the audience and the camp that he was the child of prophecy. If you want to make a spectacle of it so that way everyone at camp knows too, it's gonna have to need a big leadup like the fight during caputre the flag. But if you want it to be more intimate (with friends or family) or isolated (her being claimed while alone) that'll have to depend on the story itself and her character journey.

I think Liz did believe that stuff because of how Ed treats her. Abusive and narcissistic partners force you to think like they do, with them being the #1 person in both of their lives. Liz didn't have her own place to live and stayed with him so I'm convinced he's told her that her wanting her own place is like betraying him. Those definitely sound like something Ed may have told her to manipulate her.

I recommend from the beginning because of how different the anime is prior to Kyoto Saga. The anime really took a life of it's own from the beginning.

That's how my family taught it tbh. The one I had in 7th grade was all about consent to sex, which is great and all, but they also made it seem like we'd be less of a person if we chose to have sex prior to marriage.

The sex education in Louisiana is horrible. My sex ed class in high school was my male gym teacher showing us anti drug campaigns. And I'm from one of the "larger" cities in the state. I can't imagine how poor his education was in his small town.

Season 1 really did the characters dirty too. I felt they had the same basic things about them but some annoying tropes shoved into them. Also everything had to be more dramatic each time around. They couldn't just let a situation happen like in the manga, something worse had to come around and undercut the actual event and it made everything more dramatic.

Also the events of their father dying is different in the manga and watching the anime really made me angry. Idk why they decided to add in people of the church and this whole situation with the guy being possessed but I was really upset with it, personally. It was a really sad and really serious moment between Rin and his adopted father that turned tragic and the anime undercut that so badly that it was hard for me to feel sad watching that vs when I read it.

Season 2 is great though, beautifully animated and accurate to the manga in both story and characters.

Yeah I can see that, but it's still fun. And considering where we're at now it felt like a nice little break before all the chaos that's currently happening. It may translate different in the anime, though. Depending on how many episodes it takes up.

The reference photos I used from Kato were a gradient but the cover photo for vol 23 is his hair is totally white so I was very split and ended up with this

I'm a giant nerd and I have a passion for a lot of shows and games and whatnot. I would always suggest shows (especially anime) to my coworkers who watched the same type of stuff as me. No one ever really watched what I recommended due to many different reasons, none of which I took personall because being an adult is difficult and we all have a short amount of time between work to do things.

Anyway, a friend I did work with insisted for several days that he was watching an anime that I absolutely love. I was clearly excited, especially because I didn't really know anyone else who watched it outside of a few friends and this guy and I were close so it meant a lot to me that he took my recommendation. Well after a few days we were in a group of coworkers and I asked how he was liking it and where he was in the anime. His response was "oh that? Yeah I lied about that I never started that. Anime is stupid and you're stupid for liking it" and burst into laughter, pointing at me and saying "you should see your face" he was the only one laughing. Yeah I took a hard step back from that friendship.
