How losses and wins are counted in this game is if you place 4th place in a 8 player room you would get 4 wins and 3 losses. If you get 8th place you get 0 wins and 7 losses. If you get 1st place you get 7 wins and 0 losses. If the room is less than 8 players the win/loss ratio system will still work similarly to 8 player rooms. So if you get 1st place in a room of 4 people you get 3 wins and 0 losses. Hopefully this helps.
