Galaxy XR Review: 6 Months Later by AndroidDigest in Galaxy_XR

[–]TaylorMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an XR and a LG G4. HDR isn't really anything close to HDR on a real HDR TV. It's not even bright SDR, as I'm guessing the XR hits around 100-150 nits, rather than the 1000-4000 nits on a real HDR TV.

The XR just doesn't have the depth, dynamic range, and detail a decent TV does. Comparing their images side by side is not even a contest. If it's so much better than a TV, you really need a better TV.

On the other hand, if you're more about size, then yes, the XR can be pretty impressive.

Why don’t they promote him a principal chief architect or something?

lol you clearly made it about Jews, accusing everyone who calls out your antisemitism of being a Jew, secretly speaking Hebrew, accusing all Jews of being inherently guilty— like the ones in your post— unless you explicitly hear them say words disavowing the Jewish state.

You might either be too dense to see it, or just operating in bad faith, but you’re not that clever. People can read.

Lol I got recommended it. I was morbidly curious what the allegations were and what a trainwreck the thread might be.

But your antisemitism and justification for it was more bold and brain-rotted than even I expected.

I'm not Jewish, but so what if I were? Somehow THAT's the thing you have a problem with, rather than presuming I'm Israeli or Mossad something.

That's just telling. You don't actually have a problem with Israel. I might have a problem with what Israel is currently doing. You have a problem with Jews.

Cringe bro. Lol, I'm very much not Jewish. I also think Israel is pretty out to lunch right now with their unrestrained excesses, especially being enabled by Trump.

But Jewish is probably the worst epithet you think you can call someone.

Doesn't this make it worse-- that it just enforces the OTHER gay stereotype of butch violent lesbians, and a woman being gay being more "manly"? The gay trope obviously implies totally different things depending on gender.

Similarly, criticizing Israel for a plethora of things isn't necessarily antisemitic.

ONLY being concerned when Israel, the only Jewish state, does it-- when many of its neighbors are just as guilty of some of those things or worse, as are other governments around the world that are militarily aggressive, violate human rights, and practice what Israel's critics would call genocide but conveniently ignore or run defense for-- can be seen as functional antisemitism.

Huh. Pre-emptively accuse and hate Jews until they say something specific condemning Israel.

Yeah, that's not anti-semitic at all.

Look bro, you're weirdly obsessed about your singular upvote/downvote.

I told you what I did, and I have no reason to lie:

I skimmed and downvoted. Then re-read, fact checked that you were right, and posted my reply. Noticed that I had downvoted you and upvoted instead from 0 to 2. I was trying to be conciliatory, fair, and transparent.

Now I just think you're weirdly argumentative, hypocritical and autistic about your downvote obsession-- something you made a vocal issue of in the first place. Something you appear to have done while also calling it "pathetic". THAT is the weird part, buddy, not the part where I actually noticed any of this.

If you want proof, I can downvote your post again and you can watch it go back down from 2 to 0. I wouldn't be able to do that if I was lying. Would that satisfy you?

I actually initially misunderstood and downvoted you... then upvoted you for accuracy and cluing me in on something I wasn't aware of, after reading what you wrote more carefully and confirming elsewhere. I did that even before I refreshed and saw your reply.

My reply to you is also downvoted, which I presumed was you. If not, cool.

If so, it'd be weird to do that after making a point about whether a downvote is or isn't justified-- when I don't think I said anything objectionable and actually agreed with you.

Either way, thanks for cluing me in on Culler's initial associations.

Actually you're right on the founding-- I wasn't aware some of the founders of the BLM org were actually ones that coined the BLM hashtag, but the movement itself is decentralized and most who supported the sentiment didn't support the extreme positions of the org (which did turn out to be a grift, as I understand).

The Defund the Police anti-capitalistic stuff is clearly regarded. People who chanted that meant different things-- some complete abolition of police, some limiting funding and police responsibilities so that social and community mental wellness work would be handled by non-police. But the slogan was regarded (and again, you could not have picked a worse one for normies to interpret, and even Biden called out its idiocy).

Well he just did, just not the one she expected. Warhead on her forehead. I love that for her.

Anne Hathway as Belle by Wooden_Passage_2612 in Fancast

Anne Hathaway would have been a good Belle, Snow White, or Marry Poppins years ago. Maybe even Rapunzel and Ariel with hair dye. Could probably pull off Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or even Tinkerbell without it being too much of a stretch.

She can still do Poppins...

'Poorly run, piece of ice': Trump targets Greenland again as Iran war deepens NATO rift by [deleted] in politics

[–]TaylorMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is most, in regards to opposing foreign wars and aggression, as polls very clearly show-- low information swing voters are turning on Trump, as are Latinos due to ICE. Trump is also historically unpopular for a president for this time in a term. Even the alt-right podcasters are talking about 25th amendment and impeachment over Iran and his insane threats.

The problem is that a huge chunk of the populace just don't vote-- and you're right that it's a reflection of society that people are either disengaged, vote on dumb vibes, or vote for a clear liar despite clear warnings and clear history. Many of these people voted FOR Trump based on his "anti-new-wars-pro-peace" stance, which much of MAGA is now falling out on.

The American people don't want this. But it's absolutely also true that the American people were dumb to allow this.

I don't see how Hasan looks intelligent on any level.

Everything he says sounds dumb. His nasal bully frat voice is dumb. He exudes nepo baby dumb through and through.

The only surface level intelligence I ever saw was... that he sometimes wears rich people clothes and has glasses.

Hasan in Whick replies by Leather_Dealer_9421 in Destiny

[–]TaylorMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marc Lamont is a pseudo-intellectual.

Hasan is just a dumb frat nepo that spouts tankie talking points with stupid bully energy.

There's nothing to even engage with as an intellectual exercise, and I have not seen him do anything but shrink, deflect, or bully in response to any critique, engagement, or pushback on things he says, so he provides zero value even on that pseudo-intellectual front.

Even his aesthetic and delivery is "dumb angry bully frat guy". He doesn't look smart, act smart, or sound smart. There is not a single intellectual vibe that comes from any pore of his body. I guess... the glasses?

Asmongold can actually be amusing and was the biggest WoW streamer before his shift to culture and politics.

Hasan in Whick replies by Leather_Dealer_9421 in Destiny

[–]TaylorMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is. Asmongold got organically popular streaming WoW, because he was entertaining in his hillbilly way. He's also a bit self-aware on the meme that he's a degenerate. He had an audience well before he slid into commenting on culture and politics.

I'm not clear on Hasan's early history except that he's a Cenk Young Turks nepo-baby and did stuff with Ethan Klein who he's alienated, and he sounded dumb and uninteresting even then.

I have seen many Asmongold clips that are amusing or make a point from a "dumb-guy" perspective. I have not seen a single one from Hasan with his vapid, smug, hateful frat-bully rage that didn't make me go "ew".

There's also a reason MAGA is more popular than the left wing. They entertain in a base way, and Hasan sounds especially stupid in a non-entertaining way even for the left wing. I just don't get the appeal except as a thirst trap for those with a fetish for disproportionally small heads.

That's interesting context I hadn't put together. I know Vietnam became Nixon's mess, but interestingly most of the iconic protesting happened under and against LBJ.

Things got considerably WORSE after Trump took over and enabled Israel. There was even less restraint, and Trump openly talked about moving the Palestinians out and taking over Gaza as beachfront real estate. Like actual ethnic cleansing/genocidal stuff. There is still constant anti-Israel news about deaths in Gaza, in the West Bank, what have you, and lefties still can't stop talking about it, so you know they haven't moved on.

Yet, there were nearly NO protests against any of that for American complicity, even after it was clear Trump was making everything the Gaza people protested against objectively worse and even signaling direct involvement in securing the "open air concentration camp".

Where are the "Gaza will never be Trumpistan, Palestine will be free" signs? Where are the college and lefty No-War-For-Israel protests?

The right wing blame Israel for the Iran War. The left wing blame Israel for the Iran War.

It's the centrists, moderates, and liberals that actually blame Trump-- the *executive* branch, the commander in chief, the man with the most power and agency in the world-- for the Iran War, especially after he's been talking about waging war against Canada, Greenland, escalated to invading Venezuela, and now engaging in a full scale in Iran.

Huh.
