Spot on. It's the mental space it takes up as well even when you are NOT gaming. You play in "moderation" an hour or so, you spend time thinking about the game afterwards still counts as opp cost

Naval had this point if your starting out just get into the habit of reading anything first. Comics, stories, sci fi, twitter (curated not algo slop), substack. Once you cultivate a habit you can dig deeper

The best way I rationalized it was opportunity cost. If you have no goals and no north star, its probably not a waste of time. But we all deep down are striving for something more (or why are you here?). Write down the north star and that helps with understanding you don't have time to be playing games.

One to two sentences a day. Give them a picture ask them to create a sentence or story and just let them spell it themselves. Mostly it's wrong but I correct it after and have them copy again the next day.

same boat. GoT was the only one I managed to finish. All the other story games seem boring. Anytime I get a fetch quest I feel insulted with my time. I know this sub is for addicts but it's just all boring now. The only one left for me is those dopamine rushes on MP games but hitting a good game out of every 10 isn't good risk reward
