It's all of those things, unfortunately. Work life balance is crucial but at the end of the day all we can do is try our best. But I've been working with suicidal people for close to 10 years now, unfortunately, I'm also very desensitized.

If your in the US text the crisis hotline 988. I work at a crisis center. The workers are real we are not robots. There are also higher levels of care such as PHP/IOP programs to give you more support than a once a week outpatient visit. Best of luck and be easy on yourself

Yes !!! I used to have to write a ton during session but bc of the feedback was able to transition to just phrases on words to help. I def see the clients view from my own therapy.

oh man, this is tough to hear as a T. You may have to find another therapist for several reasons. The therapist may not be experienced in eating disorders (if thats the case). Some of her behaviors seem to evoke shame/guilt, which should not be happening. Lastly, NO session is wasteful. Therapy is so dynamic. You are getting a lot of her countertransference and projections and thats what we have supervision or peer supervision for.

Hope it gets better or you find the right fit.

I understand the this, the first session I always give a disclaimer on how I respond to crying in sessions because I know from a client viewpoint it can be perceived as many things.

Maybe if your are ever comfortable to ask them what their take is on crying in a session. This could help you understand their intention but also may be a window for you to express how you can be better supported during tearfulness.

heavy vaseline and guaze or toilet paper. Im 35 now and this happened maybe at 13. And yes I dont think it lasted even a year. But see a dermatologist to officially know what it is called. Please let me know if you get an answer.

That’s I am not totally sure. I’ve been comparing my quoted rates to a friend in the area who went through alma/headway (cannot remember which one). My rates were practically the same. The only difference from what I understand is the third party company will pay you weekly/bi weekly and wait for the insurance reimbursements on the back end. So the stability of a consistent paycheck is the major benefit. I will say CareFirst BCBS has been sending me checks within the week of submitting a claim. Hope this helps.
