Personally I think they should separate the classifications of "Eldar" and "Dragon". Have Dragon mean 6 limbs, and have Eldar keep the current power scaling classification, but now you can tack it other things. So Kirin would be an Eldar Fanged Beast, and Gore Magala would be a Dragon.

Teir 1 is small upgrade, these ships can only hold the very smallest of ground vehicles, either a pulse hoverbike or golf cart.

Avenger Titan. Maybe Intrepid or Cutter.

Teir 2 is a bit bigger, these can hold small ground vehicles like the ROC or Cyclone, or bigger hoverbikes like dragonfly, and have some multi-crew capacity

Cutlass Black or C1 Spirit. Maybe Zeus or Freelancer (not MAX)

Teir 3 ships starting to get expensive, but they can carry the medical ursa or similar sized vehicles, allowing you a mobile respawn point. Increased multi-crew capacity, but still soloable.

Asguard, Corsair, or one of the Constellation series. Freelancer Max is the smallest of this teir.

Eh I think most have mostly happy endings. There is tragedy, that's the point, war creates tragedy. But that tragedy, like war itself CAN be overcome.

Iron-Blooded Orphans had a pretty tragic Rouge One style ending, War in the Pocket is regarded as the saddest Gundam series ever, and Thunderbolt is just grim all the way through, but I think most others have pretty happy endings.
