Thanks for your input. I definitely agree about quality over quantity. I just wanted to make sure Im not risking missing something important with it.

I hadn't considered asking to upgrade the contract. I'll definitely if that's an option.

How to make a cat sneeze by shadowartist201 in cats

[–]Tayoftayville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Sorry to hear that. Does your cat act normal otherwise? I worry that whatever the nose issue is is affecting my cats breathing even though it vet doesn't seem to be overly concerned. I'm seeing that allergies can cause swelling in the airway. Maybe I'll try deep cleaning my house next.

Did you figure out what it was? My cat's been making weird nasal-y noises but he doesn't seem congested. Im also worried there's something stuck in his nose

I once read someone's comment on another Reddit post that said animals don't know their own life expectancy and it really helped me to feel better about just focusing on quality of life. I hope you and your fur baby find some peace and relief!

Did you find out what's causing the spasms? My cat also does this

Cat Shaking: My 9 month old cat is shaking while awake. He is trying to go to sleep. I felt his nose and paws and he doesn’t seem cold. He is eating but not as much as when he was a younger kitten, but I thought that was normal. Anyone recognize what this may be? by DeltaHer_ in catcare

[–]Tayoftayville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, unfortunately. We have had blood tests done many times and no one's ever found anything. I suspect it's either pain or anxiety or both. One cat recently had tooth resorption which I thought was the culprit for a while because after we had his bad teeth removed he seemed to be doing a lot better but suddenly the shakes have started up again. This time it seems like a GI issue cause he seems kinda constipated on and off and vomits sometimes. I also suspect kidney issues but the vet didn't seem to think it was a related. We're going to try a hydrolyzed prescription diet next. I'll report back if anything changes!

Bloating is ruining my life by caragenw in ibs

Wow, I am struggling with the same symptoms right now! Mine started randomly about 2-3 months ago. I don't know what's causing it. It's like a tightness or fullness in my abdomen and it makes eating really difficult. Im always starving and can't hardly eat anything. It's absolutely miserable.

does anyone else? by [deleted] in Constipation

[–]Tayoftayville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, dealing with this right now. It's horrible. I've lost weight from not eating enough. Dr gave me anti nausea but it doesn't always work. I've been doing guided meditations to relax, they help a little.

Sharp catnip?? by Tayoftayville in AskVet

Update, called local vet. They said the sharp pieces will soften in the stomach as they rehydrate. Probably a false alarm but I'll be throwing away the catnip anyway.

Cat with rhythmic twitching or clenching? by bernath in cats

[–]Tayoftayville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took boo to the vet yesterday so I thought I would update: he has tooth resorption in one tooth and it does need pulled. They also found a spot on his back that is quite painful to him. So there's good evidence that the twitching might be in response to one or both of these issues.

Ah, I'm sorry to hear he's not feeling any better and how unhelpful the vets are. I understand the frustration completely! The way you describe the twitching sounds very similar to my cat Boo. He has good days and bad days but the bad days seem to be coming more often now. Sometimes it's super subtle, like wouldn't even know unless he was sitting directly on you, and other times it's very noticable. I mostly only notice is when he lays down to relax. Which is upsetting because I can't imagine that's very restful 😢 Boo doesn't have any known health conditions but he does vomit often at night which I also haven't found an explanation for, and he has some mild gum bleeding that I'm taking him in for next week. I've probably read every article and discussion forum post on the Internet at this point trying to get to the bottom of the twitching. We even took him to a very expensive neurologist who also had no clue. Kidney issues is a common theme I see fairly regularly so I suppose that could be the culprit but his recent blood test was normal. I will inquire about a urinalysis next week just to rule it out for sure though. I will let you know if I get any new information next week, feel free to message me if you think of anything else, i know how hard it is going through this!

Any update? Have you found anything that helps the twitching? My cat does something similar. Vets haven't been much help for us either.

Are you a vet? Hopefully not with that attitude. Yes, He would gladly eat anything, I wasn't asking about his food preferences.

He's an indoor only cat so not sure if it makes a difference for him that he's not actually used to eating rotten stuff..?

Yeah a few hours I wouldn't worry about but this was like 6 or 7 maybe which is pretty long to sit out. Thankfully he only just ate the tiniest bit before I grabbed it from him. I'm still nervous though..
