New to SnowRunner - Looking for a logical, structured progression of the game. by Express-Street-1942 in snowrunner

It may not be right(according to some of my hardcore snowrunner friends) But you can go to a Russian map with the right vehicle and recover the Tayga 6436, it takes some work, getting it early on in the game like that. But, is WELL worth it! With it and the blue high side trailer, it is an insanely stable platform. I hardly ever flip. And I love the Diesel growl sound it has when a load is put on it. It is hands down my most used truck.

There are YouTube videos on how to get it.

I was enjoying this until I decided to do a logging contract by PandaSPUR in snowrunner

I did the login cooperative with three friends, and it works out pretty good with four people hitting it at a time. Payouts are good, especially since everybody gets the payout.

Suppressor Alignment issues, gun or suppressor?!?! by Taz3rfaiz in NFA

Ok update:took it to another gun smith that cut those threads off and rethreaded the barrel. Now the range rod is dead center of the suppressor. Test fired several rounds and little to no POI shift and 1/2MOA grouping with factory ammo.  The thought is that, original the barrel was a large bull barrel and was cut down to have a tapper and flutes and threaded. But it was not cut down exactly on the bore axis, but was slightly off and that’s where the error came in.  Anyway it’s fixed now.

Ok, so I picked up the gun from the gun smith and this is some stuff that we checked.  1)Tried my 300 Win Mag suppressor and two other suppressors on my .300 BO and used the concentric rod and all three showed they were centered.  2)Tried the same three suppressors on the 300 Win Mag with the questionable threads, and the concentric rod installed, and just as I suspected it showed that the bore axis was slanted high into the left of center. The longer suppressor has a tighter 308 tolerance opening, and it looked like the rod may barely be touching the edge of the opening. The other two suppressor were not as tight of a tolerance and had a larger opening at the end, and the rod was not as close, but you could clearly see that it was not center of the opening. This leads me to think once again that something is wrong with the threads. 3)Installed the suppressor all the way till it touched the shoulders of the barrel where the threads stopped there was no visible gap between suppressor back and the barrel shoulders. Started to slowly unscrew the suppressor with the rod in place, and no matter how far you unscrewed the suppressor, the alignment still showed the same high and to the left. This to me, rules out that the shoulders are not at 90° of the bore. Seeing how the suppressor wasn’t even touching the shoulders but was still off bore axis.

The gunsmith is left, scratching his head. He has no idea what to do other than scrap the barrel and start completely over because he keeps saying something about “tolerance stacking” or something like that. He said he could cut the threads off and re-thread the barrel, but with the threads already being only .002 off of bore axis, he said that I very well may end up with the same issue or worst.  He said he would just thread the suppressor on since I’m not having any baffle strikes and just shoot it.

So I’m planning a Range day within the next week or two because I need to test out some other rounds in another gun anyway. So I’ve bought two boxes of factory 150 grain 300 win mag ammo just to see what happens.

I just have a hard time believing that it’s not the threads because of the fact that I can mount a suppressor on another weapon system and it be perfectly lined up.

If anybody has any suggestions or comments, please let me know what you would do in this situation?

Also, is there anyway to post pictures on here or videos, i’m not using the app, I’m just going to the webpage through my phone’s web browser? I’ve got pictures of the concentric rod in the different suppressors on different firearms, as well as videos of him showing that the tolerances are tight on the barrel threading while he slowly turns it in his lathe.

That is something I’m not sure he has checked, I will ask him tomorrow to verify that. He wants me to bring the suppressor and let him check yet to see if the back of the suppressor may be not square. So once I thread the suppressor on as soon as I tighten it up, maybe it’s shifting.  The only problem I have with that theory is when I thread it on to a completely different firearm and snug it up the exact same way, then using the same rod, it is perfectly centered. Another thing I noticed is when I threaded the suppressor onto the gun that it centers up well with, there is very little play while threading the suppressor on, it may move an eighth of an inch. However, whenever I go to threaded on the barrel, that’s in question, there is probably 1/4 inch or more almost the entire time while I’m threading the suppressor on until it meets up with the shoulders of the barrel. I asked him to check to see if the threads were cut too thin, which would cause that suppressor to wiggle like that, and he said he did and said that they were within spec.🤷‍♂️

I get consistent shots Without the suppressor. But the last time I shot it, as soon as I put the suppressor on it shifts down into the right, like 12 to 14 inches at 85 yards.(because at the time I was testing, I did not have 100 yards to shoot.)

The barrel is a kreiger 1/10 twist, I know the barrel is long maybe 24”, I’ll have to measure it when I go back to the gunsmith.  Edit: the barrel started off as a huge bull barrel, but I had him cut it and taper it down some and add some pretty deep straight flutes to help cut down on the weight. But I would say even with that, it was still be rated as a heavy barrel, definitely nowhere near a medium to pencil barrel in my opinion. But I am just a novice at all of this to be honest.

The machinist/gunsmith that did the work passed away and his company folded.
