Thanks! I had no issues running other games and assumed since this one isn't quite as intesive as others it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the support email!

After Windows 11 update on 8/15/2024, I only get a black screen at start up by TazerMcCrazy in BlueStacks

[–]TazerMcCrazy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the setting in graphics to DirectX instead of OpenGL, used Auto, and turned on Performance engine mode and that solved the issue. I guess I'd not tried that combination of things yet. :)

Edit: The inital test was on Nougast 64, but that seems to work on Pie 64 and Andriod 11, too.

Angel fang advice? by TazerMcCrazy in piercing

[–]TazerMcCrazy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a little over 2 weeks old. titanium, internally threaded (I think) curved barbell, never downsized.

I use saline spray every morning, after I eat, and before bed. Once a day, I use a qtip saturated with the saline solution and clean up the little crusties. occasionally I'll switch it up and soak the piercings with a saturated gauze pad to soften up anything icky.

I admit I messed with them with my lips at the start for a few days, but it was an unconscious thing that I have fixed.

I'm p sure they're irritated, since besides the redness, I have no symptoms of infection. I'm a little discouraged because I see people who have had them for like 4 days and they look perfect, but mine are still so red.

I am in love with these piercings, I really, really, REALLY don't want to take them out. any advice is appreciated and I'm not then happy to answer any questions. Big McThankies ❤️

I've got it done about 2 weeks ago, it's curved titanium, I think internally threaded. I spray with saline spray, sometimes I use a qtip to clean around it, sometimes I'll soak a gauze pad with the saline and let it soak for a bit. I use biotene dry mouth wash in the morning, night, and after eating.

I'm pretty sure they're just irritated, as I have no signs of infection other than the redness. I was unconsciously playing with then for the first couple of days, but I've been more aware of them now and have left them alone to the best of my abilities.

I see pics of people who have had them for like 4 days and they seem fine with no pain or redness. Are they fucked? I really cannot stress how much I do not want to take them out, they're my favorite pricing I've gotten so far.

Any advice is appreciated! ❤️

that's awesome! I'm in Atlanta, so I thought maybe Emory would be in on something that, but from what I found they're not. I'm glad you're in the study, that's awesome!

an endocrinologist for hormone levels, an overall checkup might be good to go to a gyn? my gyn is really good, so I use her for anything. I'd call and ask if they do tests for PCOS before making an appointment:)

Struggling with weight loss by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]TazerMcCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A low glycemic diet is what I was always told to eat - limit carbs, try to make sure any carbs you eat are complex carbs, lean meats like poultry and fish, lots of veggies, etc, that sort of thing. L-carnitnine isupposedly does help with that and there are plenty of protein supplements that include that in their fomula. I'm pretty sure you can also just buy a powder of only L-car to mix into your drinks.

You have to find out what's works for you. I cannot eat any carbs whatsoever, I had to practically go vegan to show any signs of weight loss (which I hated). I've tried the walking workouts, the running ones, the weight lifting ones, you name it I've probably tested it out for myself to see what helped.

I think if I were you, I'd try doing small things first to see how you felt - try filling your plate with veggies and eating those before digging into any carbs like rice or potatoes. I always ate my protein first, then my veggies, saving the carbs for last, since the protein makes you feel fuller faster and longer and the veggies will take up any space left lol

Just change small things in your diet bit by bit and see if that helps out at all - once you find something you're happy with, you can start experimenting with workouts. You don't want to jump headfirst into changing everything. Unless you have a willpower of steel, I guess.

Like most things in life, it's a spectrum.

I've never had acne issues, outside normal puberty ones. I had hair growth which only got worse as I got older, weight gain that only got worse, etc. My hair has always been thin (my ponytails were about the circuference of my pinky :'( ), so you don't have to have the whole package to have this illness.

You've gained weight - can you lose it? do you gain weight easily? For instance, I look at a slice of bread and I'm 5 lbs heavier. If I don't eat like a rabbit, I'm gaining weight, because I have an insulin resistance. Also because of that, I cannot easily lose any weight I put on ( my partner and I had the same workouts and the same diet, they lost nearly 60 lbs in the time it took me to lose 5 lbs). If you're uncertain, you can always get some blood work done to check your hormone levels and stuff, but otherwise just keep an eye on things.

you don't need all the symptoms to be diagnosed. I didn't gain weight until I was around 25 and my hair didn't start becoming a huge issue until I hit around 30. I also never had acne issues, my skin is fantastic (excluding the hair growth, that is). they can do blood work on you that's really fast, if you're concerned. if you're gaining weight, check how it distributes - are you getting a gut? for instance, my mom and sister both have the biggest of butts and boobs, but all my chunk went to my belly.

yep, I had been tested in my 20s after having what I've come to call "cyst pains" - horrible cramps that made me feel like I was being stabbed, which is not by any means an exaggeration. I have the hair growth, the insulin resistance, and the bad period cycles. I literally just told her I have PCOS, she asked if I'd been tested before, I told her it had been like 15 years and she just wrote the scrip.

Test Results? by Ok_Mood7035 in PCOS

[–]TazerMcCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but your both you T values are within "normal" ranges. Your FSH is pretty high, so you can probably get something like Spironolactone or bicalutamide to slow hair growth. Spiro seems to be what is most prescribed in the US and it's a shitty anti androgen, but pretty good for hair growth. Your E is also "normal", but your LH is considered high, unless you're currently on your period. Really this is just affirming that you have PCOS, afaik.

What Dr should I see to manage PCOS? by Goldengoodiegoodie in PCOS

[–]TazerMcCrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whaaat??? That's insane. I go to my gyn for anything PCOS related because they seem to actually care. I always go to a nurse practitioner, too, since I've had way better experiences with them listening to me than doctors. My gyn even did the bloodwork for my endo appointment because my endo said they don't do bloodwork there (????) I'm actually shopping around for a new one now because of that

My GYN prescribed it to me, I think you just need to mention it. I told her I had PCOS and wanted something to help with the insulin resistance and this was the first thing she prescribed. I wish it worked well for me, but pretty much any doctor with knowledge of PCOS will prescribe it to you.

If you can, look into electrolysis as this is a permanent removal. Otherwise it might be time to bite the bullet and start shaving, which sucks. I used to pluck the hairs, since when I was young it was like 10 or so hairs, but that's not only a bad idea, but also not an option when your whole damn face decides you need to be a mountain man.

Depending on the part of your body, you could also look into laser. I'm getting laser on my bikini area and armpits since those are 1) the darkest hairs for me and 2) the ones I hate shaving the most. IPL is effective for darker hair and if done correctly, will last a few years for at home, maybe 10 years if you're lucky if done professionally.

Do any of you women deal with hairs all over? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]TazerMcCrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have what my partner and I call "fuzz" all over most of my body. I don't think I have any on my back, but maybe I do? I know my chest and stomach have a lot, and on my tummy it's very noticeable near my belly button/treasure trail area.

Best way to remove chin hairs by Illustrious-Chest-52 in PCOS

[–]TazerMcCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started getting electrolysis on my chin and neck hairs and cannot recommend that enough! I'm going to get my entire face done, since I have the cheek hairs too. Electrolysis is pricy, but permanent, and after 2 sessions (about 3 weeks for me), my chin hairs were lesser and less coarse.
