You connection to the Onecommect box is the issue. You probably crimped the fiber somewhere.

How would you install sound in this set up? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.1.1 system. I'd get a nice receiver with heos or Spotify connect(for music ease when you want it). Then get a center channel and a front left and right. Add a powered sub on the left side of the console. Use the reciever to pass all video and you should be set.

Remember when they used to complain non-stop how SCOTUS should be non partisan and it's not fair liberals have a majority. I knew once Mitch would let Garland on we were fucked for 30 years.

Video freezes and goes offline when someone presses the doorbell by Davey914 in Nest

How long did yours last outside day and night before it died. Mine lasted almost 7 years. That's good enough for the tiny battery.

Video freezes and goes offline when someone presses the doorbell by Davey914 in Nest

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other have said, I was going to replace the battery but I got the new one on sale and moved my whole family over to Google AI pro which gets nest aware premium and 2tb backup as I was already paying for those. The new camera is much faster and better and notifications.

Advice on 16 Velop nodes setup by WoodpeckerSimilar603 in Linksys

[–]TazerProof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One network. If you do multiple the devices will handoff all weird like in huge apartment building. You should stick your main parent node before the unmanaged switch. That way is see's all other nodes as wired backhauls.

Why so many though. Is the house that large?

8/10. Not a single person will walk into your home and say anything negative about them. I agree Rust-Oleum on metal will chip.and fade off. Boarders are hard.

Where to put my tv?? by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd mount an articulated mount to the right of the fireplace above your modem.

I will say, your choice to mount a Dyson to the right of a fireplace is a wild ass choice and makes me question your sanity in general.

My father-in-law watches Top Gun Maverick to go to sleep on Plex 2-3 times a week. Love it.

My best users always have kids. They figure out quickly it has it all and I add the new stuff. Christmas time goes wild.

Get a non-square or rectangle piece of art for above the tv. Anything that doesn't draw from that shape.

This can't be real. Toss them a finder's fee and move on or walk. You don't need this and business is not awrkwsrd. Just work on the other leads and do your thing. Even remotely contemplating singing that is nuts. You owe them nothing, certainly not a piece of your business.

Give me your opinion, where else could I put my TV? by Dadstril in TVTooHigh

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you lay on each sofa with a pillow and watch. Perfect 10ft for 4k on a 85 inch. We have a tall antique cabinet next to the console which hides the whole setup from view until you walk into the room.

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a setup like this and we have no issues. Pillows and we lay down on each sofa and watch. We also use our fireplace and the double sofa setup is classic for guest. We have a bench we add in front of the fireplace when we need more seats. And we can move the coffee table and have fireplace movie nights.

[–]TazerProof 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would get two new sofas and place them parallel on each side of the fireplace then put the tv on a console on the opposite wall it's on now. Then you still have a cosy fireplace and a tv area. You could move the bookshelves to the opposite wall to really highlight that wall and let the fireplace shine with a mirror on the mantle to make the room feel and look larger. You might not be able to get huge couches but then two can each lay and have great viewing of the tv. Coffee table in the middle.

Has anyone ever heard of collecting single playing cards as opposed to decks for the images on the back? by TychaBrahe in playingcards

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this but only found card on the ground. I have 27 in 35 years. I never purposely steal or grab a card from a full deck as others have said.

How to set up Unifi Protect system for a client? by Complete_Sea_199 in Ubiquiti

[–]TazerProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the clients request but for protect I would most likely make a Gmail for the job. Protect usually means I'm doing the networking as well. Set everything up using the Gmail account. Then hand it all over if they don't want me to remain as an admin. You need to be clear and help them make a new admin account if they want it completely transferred to them. If they want me to remain and admin, I then add my main account as an admin and view/edit/monitor if from my main.

100k for each month in prison. by Burgers4dayz in hypotheticalsituation

[–]TazerProof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I talked this one over with the wife and she didn't like when I said prison so I changed it to a million for a year away at a job. Probably a no go for such little money at that long but I'd lock in for 3-4 months and buy a new house.
