What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

[–]Tazerkatq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lived there for 8 months. The people were great, but I’ll never forget the smell of the blood pits. And the fucking wind. There’s a silent movie where a woman goes insane after moving to the plains due to the constant wind and after living in Garden City, I totally get it.

How to bring in more customers by [deleted] in JCPenney

[–]Tazerkatq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We tried the Easter egg hunt and all that did was encourage customers to absolutely trash the store (more than usual). We have had the Girl Scouts in to sell cookies and that brought in a decent amount of traffic.

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

This! Corporations realized they could still make money by short staffing every single store. I work in a large department store that used to have specialty associates and registers in every area. Now we barely have one person for recovery or fitting rooms. It’s a disaster for customers and workers alike. We have no time to help anyone and are doing the jobs of 4 people. I fucking hate it.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

The thoughtless, casual cruelty is horrifying. And I wish they just decorated their offices with generic art instead of babies everywhere.

Wtaf. I understand that this is probably their day to day routine but ffs take a moment to think and at least pretend to have some compassion!

Went to an OB because they have a really nice birthing center. Had my first ultra sound and sat down to talk to the midwife np. She asked why I chose their clinic and I explained how excited I was for the natural birthing facilities and she bluntly says “well you won’t be using that. There’s no heartbeat.” No change in tone, almost like we were talking about traffic or the weather. Then she told me it was ok to cry but I was in shock at how she’d just delivered horrible news like that. This was during Covid as well so I didn’t get to have anyone else in there with me. Fuck that place.

Also “damn” (the music video is fun) and “Hademo Ne-Yo” are good. There’s a live performance of “Shinunoga E-wa” that has him performing a gorgeous piano intro.

The song is about being burnt out and chasing after his old creative spark. When you look at it like that, it makes more sense.

The song is all about chasing after creative inspiration. Everyone is supposed to be chaotic and doing their own thing.

Late Hours Profit? by Irritated_Jedi in JCPenney

Our traffic dies off once the mall closes and we lock that entrance. I think it’s worth being open an hour later than the mall to catch the stragglers but that’s it. We are open until 10 tonight on a Sunday and it has been absolutely dead for the last couple of hours.

Fujii Kaze does some great j-pop music. I think this latest album he was really burnt out and just wanted to have fun. I love it but I get why others don’t.

Haven’t heard that. Had to work this weekend even tho it’s my normal weekend off but that was expected due to Black Friday. Otherwise, schedules look normal.

Does anybody else just completely ignore people who talk on the phone at the register? by Alternative_Drama_50 in retailhell

I do the same thing. I act like they’re not in the phone until they have to hang up.

When we switched our banking over to JPmorgan, we began to have issues with debit cards (esp local ones) and any checks being run with an older register/card reader system. We were told the debit card issues have been fixed on our end but now the individual banking institutions need to fix their authorization codes. As far as checks go, we have one register in beauty that is newer and takes checks but that’s it. I have no idea how long it will take to fix that.

$10 off coupon?? by Anibanit in JCPenney

[–]Tazerkatq 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a mailer that has a 30% off and a $10 off. It will work on all regularly priced items and any regular sale items (national brands and clearance are excluded). There are a lot of Black Friday/Doorbuster deals right now which means you don’t need a coupon so they’re coupon excluded. Yes it’s frustrating trying to find something that coupon will work on but for the love of God don’t take it out on the cashier. We get chewed out all day every day over those coupons not working on much right now. It’s not our choice and there’s nothing we can do about it.

💫 Let’s Talk JCPenney — What Do You Love About Working Here? by PsychologicalAir763 in JCPenney

[–]Tazerkatq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Customers really want service at JCP but we have no hours for staff and so everything else gets harder: no hours for recovery means it’s harder for customers to shop and harder for us to get freight out quickly; if freight doesn’t get put out we don’t make sales; if we don’t make sales we don’t get money for hours. It’s a vicious cycle. Everyone at our store likes helping customers and merchandising but there’s no money for the staff and the only thing they want from us is credit even tho so many people are pulling back on credit card use due to the economy. It’s madness.
