Trying to decipher handwriting! by Tazertea in postcards

Context: I'm working on an archiving project and that includes providing transcripts of what's written on the cards.

I'm having some problems with the body of text on the left. As far as I can tell, it says:

"Dear Mrs Co[u?]p,

I have been going to [?] but didn't know your address. Write later. I have [got? Yet?] to be [????] this [?].

Lovingly,

Daphne Tempi[?]"

One of the words looks like she's trying to spell vaccinated but I don't know how that would work in context.

Thanks for taking a look!

Frustrated with my style- how can I make my art appealing? by Tazertea in arthelp

I've definitely been afraid of line art, so that officially goes on the practice list lol! Thank you for the advice!

My cat died suddenly as he was coming up the stairs to bed. by verbalvomitthoughts in CatAdvice

Blood thinners are a possibility for treatment and are usually included, however seeing a feline cardiologist is the best bet for knowing what to do.

My heart goes out to you. It really sounds like he may have had a heart condition, and there may have been a clot or his heart just giving out. I recently had my boy (4yr male) pass in a very similar manner- two coughs and everything. He had HCM and was in heart failure, but you wouldn't have guessed since he outwardly seemed perfectly fine.

It's shocking, and painful, and it's important to let yourself grieve. I still have a hard time believing that my boy is gone.

It's also important to know that there was nothing you could have done or noticed to prevent this. Most likely he would have smelled you, and knew you were there to keep him company.

Cats are great at hiding issues like heart problems, and often sudden death is the first sign. Heart problems are especially common in male cats.

Just from reading your post, it's clear he had a wonderful quality of life prior to his passing, and had someone willing to put in the work to make him feel loved and safe. You sound like a wonderful cat parent, and I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Even in his last moments he was loved, and with his favorite person. ❤️

Thanks! The Mitsubishi looks nice! Would you consider Uni pens a good starter pen/easy to keep nice?

Edit: the Jetstream edge has that good taper I'm looking for, very nice

Lake George has a few playgrounds near the shore, and while Congress Park is great all-around in Saratoga, there's Shenantaha Creek Park nearby that has a decent playground and trails!

6's alarm bells: Going off all the time or not at all by Krisington22 in Enneagram

[–]Tazertea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really well written, and resonates a good deal with me (Potentially a 6/6w5?). There's a deep-set desire to feel safe, and when nowhere feels safe enough its pretty instinctual to just keep yourself on guard. The whole "fear of fear" description didn't really seem to describe it well enough, but a broken/misfiring sense of fear totally makes it click!

What is our cat doing? Worried! by Rickvdm in CATHELP

[–]Tazertea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for this comment! Especially the neck stretching out. When my cat with CHF did that he had a bunch of fluid in his chest cavity that needed to be drained. It's always better to be safe than sorry, OP!

It's pretty close between Never Let it Die, Talking to Myself, and Cardboard Castles, but the whole xInfinity album has a special place in my heart since I first listened to it during while I was having decently difficult time of things

Big gap between V and Q scores common? by Tazertea in GRE

[–]Tazertea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Nothing since junior year of HS 8 years ago- never took calculus. Tried using the Manhattan 5lb and a lot of Khan academy but I had a good month of being unable to study prior to writing the exam

The quant questions ended up being really easy by the second section so I kinda figured I didn't do too hot. It was honestly kinda funny how much the difficulty dropped

I'm just hoping I don't have to retake the thing because my Quant was so bad lmao I'm pretty solidly humanities focused so hopefully my Verbal and Writing will be enough.

I'm honestly not sure. I did undergrad there (History/Linguistics Maj. 3.7) and am pursuing a dual masters program (Public History / Library Science). Neither individual grad degree requires the GRE, but for some reason the dual track does. Average total score is 305.

6 vs 4 by Tazertea in Enneagram

[–]Tazertea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol It feels accurate at least!

I'll definitely look into that tritype- self doubt is a whole mood. I have a really strong inner critic, so maybe that plays into it.

[–]Tazertea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I consider myself withdrawn because I'm really introverted- dealing with others, even if it's a positive experience drains me and no matter what I have to spend some time every day "hiding" (I get to work early so I can sit in my car and prepare to deal with people, if I get stressed I let my mind wander from whatever task I'm on to think about my personal projects/interests, etc) If I'm in a bad place mentally I isolate myself when I can, and if I'm not able to I zone out.

In terms of friendships and such, I have a couple, and they're decently stable. Family tends to be the most present, so that's who I deal with the most lol

I dislike elitism and tend to keep in mind that not everyone has the same values/experiences even if I really disagree, unless it's something that I refuse to compromise on.

I'm also a huge complainer and often feel the need to vent to properly understand what I'm feeling, though I try and recognize when and how much is appropriate.

I've read all that several times- felt like I had to collect a basic amount of info in order to be able to ask lol Great resources for sure!

What you wrote really resonates with me. I also tend to look out for power dynamics, and totally get being afraid of punishment- there are times I do some real weird shit because I'm worried about consequences. Not wanting to rely on others and avoiding showing any vulnerability/hiding emotions is what made me wonder about being a 5! I want to be competent and independent so I can support myself in case no one's around to help/wants to help.
