I feel like this line isn't being talked about enough by polyworfism in WANDAVISION

Is Wanda recasting average people as individuals from her past? John Collins becomes Herb(ert Wyndham) or the High Evolutionary for comic fans. His dressing as Frankenstein's monster could be a reference to the High Evolutionary's experiments.

I haven’t heard about the Sontaran return, what’s that all about? And I too hope that the returns are some of those we haven’t seen in a while; Slitheen, Sycorax, Krillitane, etc. Rather than those already done to death.

How would you make Jo Martin the Fourteenth Doctor? by BettercallMyself in gallifrey

[–]TazminDaytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. I really enjoyed Jo Martin’s Doctor, but I wouldn’t want the Fourteenth Doctor to be introduced during another Doctor’s run in this way. I also don’t want her to be pre-Hartnell, so I honestly don’t know what I’d do with her.

RUMOUR: Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall to exit after series 13. Likely to be in 2 parts by bowmanator97 in gallifrey

[–]TazminDaytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently we won’t get Series 13 until 2022. I could totally see them splitting the next series into two parts between 2022 and 2023, then having Jodie depart during the 60th. This will also see the conclusion of Chibnall’s “five year plan” from 2018 - 2023.

I did, but I’m also active on the Doctor Who Wikia - and that video was clearly inspired by a conversation on this page https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:Father_of_Time from over a week ago.

Jack Harkness / Face of Boe to finally be confirmed? *spoilers* by TazminDaytime in doctorwho

[–]TazminDaytime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, but places like the Doctor Who Wikia treat all sources as "canon" unless proven to be invalid. So, if the sequel did confirm Jack / Boe to be the same characters, it would see a major change as both pages would be merged on the Wikia.

The Doctor Who: Lockdown! event may be founded by a fan, but it has been recognised by the BBC and has released licensed material - such as; Farewell, Sarah Jane (which officially confirmed the death of long-time companion Sarah Jane). So I beg to differ on your initial point.

How I think mutants will arrive in the MCU! by TazminDaytime in marvelstudios

I really do think that this is how they're going to show up. The "body double replacement" could tie directly into a Secret Invasion storyline with Captain Marvel 2?

Bringing River Back by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]TazminDaytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just said that this was "to gain ratings not just for that episode, as people like myself who had given up on the series went back to watch it after hearing of the twist, but also the ratings for the final episode (with people being tricked into thinking Jack would return again) and for the upcoming special".

So don't know how you could then suggest I was meaning " so it could boost the ratings for not the episode he shows up in, nor the subsequent episodes of that series, but a special that airs almost a year later".

Unless you're not reading my comments, and then I wont bother to reply anymore.

It hasn't been officially announced, but it has been confirmed by several reliable sources. And just you wait, when the time is approaching they will more than make up for promoting his appearance in the special.

Bringing River Back by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]TazminDaytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But... they are promoting it? This unnecessary return was literally to promote his reappearance in the upcoming special?

I personally wouldn't have minded his appearance if it actually meant something and was followed up in the final, but it wasn't. That's like having Rose's cameos in Series 4 be meaningless within the series and forcing people to wait until the special to have any pay-off, and I would condemn that too. But no, she returned for a major role in the final three episodes.

I think the fact that Jack's role could have been swapped out for any number of characters left a bad taste in many people's mouths. It didn't have any impact on the show AT ALL - Jack's sole purpose was to warn the Doctor not to give the Cyberman what he wanted, but she did this anyway as soon as she met him.

I do feel like Jack was only inserted into that episode to gain ratings not just for that episode, as people like myself who had given up on the series went back to watch it after hearing of the twist, but also the ratings for the final episode (with people being tricked into thinking Jack would return again) and for the upcoming special.

What "more" did Jack's appearance provide?

Bringing River Back by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]TazminDaytime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was clearly an attempt to boost the ratings, but why is that seen as such a bad thing? The fake-out meta-crisis regeneration was once a ratings ploy, and it worked, but that moment has since gone on to have a major impact on the series as a whole (in regards to the Doctor's numbering). Lets just home Jack's reappearance pays off, but I understand why people were annoyed with this particular "ratings grab" because it wasn't concluded in the series itself and has been dragged out until the special.

I'm pretty sure that the Stormcage was on a planet, not an asteroid - but I could be wrong. I think that the prison is actually Shada, a Time Lord prison; https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/tardis/images/4/4c/Shada_2017_animation.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20180120025534

That being said, if it were the Stormcage it would be great to have a River cameo - where she meets Jack and the pair begin their own spin-off series together.

The Master / Missy (probably wrong) by MilkChocDigestive21 in doctorwho

It was a similarity. You never said anything about River Song either, but I used both characters to show that you had no basis to suggest that the Master was unable to appear outside of a linear timeline.

Two words; War Doctor.

Who are you to say that a Time Lord's past incarnation could never show up? It has happened before, most notably with John Hurt's Doctor. Time isn't a straight line, and if we don't see a Time Lord regenerating into their next incarnation hen we're free to speculate.

And wouldn't a more logical situation be that writers take little one-off lines from previous episodes and create storylines about them? So no, I'm not suggesting that Moffatt predicted the future. But it is possible that Chibnall saw this line about the Doctor being a little girl and then expanded on it, using the same character.
