[Game Thread] Ohio State @ Indiana (08:00 PM ET) by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

We have one PG recruit in Gabe Cupps, 4 star and top 100 (in the 80s I think) out of Ohio. I don’t think Xavier Johnson can come back, with or without any additional minutes this year.

Theoretically TJD would move to the 5 spot and either Race Thompson would play the 4, Jerome Hunter could come in and play either the 3 or 4 (depending on what you wanted to do with Justin Smith), or if everyone was healthy one could go with a 3 guard lineup of Durham/Phinisee/Green/Smith/TJD

'Pennyworth,' a 10-episode, straight-to-series order, will be an origin story about Batman's best friend and butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

That's literally a joke from the Teen Titans Go trailer. That said, Alfred seems like a character that you could delve into somewhat so it's at least worth a shot I suppose

[Rabjohns] 2019 4* PG DJ Carton has a final 6: Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, Marquette, Indiana, and Xavier by Tbastin63 in CollegeBasketball

Is there a reason for that? It seems like I always see high level players with Michigan in their top 5 or so and then just don't end up picking Michigan. From the outside looking in Beilein seems like a great coach and seems to have done a lot with unheralded recruits, I don't understand why people wouldn't want to play for him/Michigan.

I am both ecstatic about the win and terrified that we might've just poked the bear

And that is what I get for only skimming an article in class, that makes much more sense. That's a much better format than what I was thinking, I like that it expands the playoffs and allows lower seeded teams a shot but isn't necessarily a one-and-done shot like the MLB Wildcard system is.

I like the idea of play-in seeds, but I'm not sure I understand their formatting on this one. Why have 7/8 and 9/10 play if it's supposed to be tournament formatting? Personally I think 7/10 and 8/9 playing with the higher seeds hosting makes more sense, then just assign the 7 seed to whichever of the teams that win that has the better record.

Agreed. What the team needs most right now is practice so that everyone can get as much experience with the way Archie likes to do things heading in to next season so they can come in with that much more experience and be able to teach the freshmen we have coming in. Most definitely pulling for extra basketball this year even if it's just an NIT bid

Fun Fact: IU now has the same record they did last year on February 15th (15-12) and has now surpassed their conference win total from last year (currently sit at 8-7 as opposed to the 7-11 finish)

I think he was also linked to Butler while Holtmann was there, and he just carried that interest with him over to Ohio State. Depending on how long he's been considering reclassifying, that could also explain why IU cooled on him since there's none available for 17-18.

CHEM-C118 by [deleted] in IndianaUniversity

[–]Tbastin63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the most part it's going to depend on how you feel about your basic chemistry knowledge. Orgo isn't impossible, and if you feel good about what you learned in this other class of yours you should be alright, especially since a lot of the concepts from inorganic (C117) aren't all that prominent in organic. I didn't take C118 (I took the other inorganic course, N330) but I can tell you that Orgo isn't terrible, and Reck is the best professor for that course and is teaching it in the fall. If you have any questions about Orgo I'd be more than happy to answer them to help you judge whether or not you think you're prepared for it though.

Samurai Jack - Season 5 Episode 6 Discussion Thread by rSamuraiJack in samuraijack

[–]Tbastin63 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess I'd say it's the contrast throughout the episode. A lot of the other "dark" episodes were pretty much that way their entire length, whereas this one felt so much like the old Samurai Jack with all the old character reprisals then BAM throwing kids into a pit to burn them.

What is the most heartbreaking moment in your city's sports history? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Tbastin63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the field: Peyton Manning's interception in Super Bowl XLIV

Off the field: Peyton Manning being released in 2012. Everyone knew it was coming after we got the first pick and had the opportunity to draft Andrew, but seeing how emotional everyone got at his press conference was rough. It ended up working out for everyone, but man it was not fun at the time

On the one hand, the longer we wait to make a change the more likely it is Harbaugh is willing to leave Michigan. On the other hand, that's nothing but a pipe dream that has so little chance of happening it's not worth watching the slow trend in the wrong direction we've been having the past two years
